I don't believe there's been that much in terms of hype, just several things that have been promised have been shown to us. Even though release is quite a way off, it's great to see some of the aspects of the game.

I think the fact that several big games will be released before Fable 2's release date is even confirmed will shoulder a lot of the 'hype' as people will still be playing those games when they realise "shit, Fable2 is out next week".

I'll definetely be getting it, enjoyed Fable and with what we've been shown so far, can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd installment.

i dont want to say it but i will i thought fabble was a very good game it is probably in my top 10 but thats just becouse i like this sort of stuff having a house and kids is nice once in a while and some humor is always good in a game also i also liked it becouse it was the(for as far as posible)perfect blend of a hack&slash game and an rpg witch means it didnt have the slow gameplay of an rpg or the bad story and bad interaction in a hack&slash
but it did future awesome combat from a hack & slash and at the same time the posibility to interact as in an rpg also the guy that said there was no real time i thought it was as real time as rpgs are going to get without them just being a "second life" to you (witch you may like but i dont so sorry for having different tastes)with that said nothings perfect it was kind of short and the trading was easy( buy all sell all buy all sell all)you know what i mean if you did it if not good for you also i think its kind of strange that while your out rotting in prison somewhere your whife remains loyal to you and is just happy that your back with the words oh dear finaly your back life goes on as usual and nothing has seemed to have hapend
i dont think fable 2 will be much better but at least it will almost certainly be longer and with what ive heard the trading system is going to be imense

Has no one already heard that Pete is keeping his mouth shut tightly this time? Everything he has mentioned has been shown in video form. He naturally has a grandiose way of putting it, but everything I've seen has me excited for it. Then again, when I heard the hype for Fable, I said "Peter Molyneux is saying this? If it has 1/5th of those features I'll be happy". It did, and I was very happy. With Fable 2, I've watched video, not read his statements, and I'm feeling all giddy.

Also, on the subject of love being an underlying theme, I think Molyneux is attempting to play into the emotions of gamers a little bit too much. I will likely be one of the few that can catch and understand what he is trying to do, but most people will think "so, wait, why can't I kill the dog? I wanna kill the dog!". Peter Molyneux doesn't realize he is a Dungeon Master in a D&D game trying to tell an epic, tragic, heart-wrenching and emotional tale to a bunch of people that just want to play Diablo on paper.

Fable loves promising on the combat system and I really want to have a dog that has its own mind. How awesome is that? Not needing to command it with a button or anything, I think thats innovation at its best.

I want the dog. :l

Hopefully Fable 2 is good. That'll be another game to add to my RPG section. Innovation is something I wouldn't expect, but a lot of successful games have no innovation, so I wouldn't worry.

Btw, Molyneux is way too passionate. They should hire someone else or something. I swear, the things he says are going to punch him in the face one day.

personally i can't wait for Fable 2. The only thing i didn't like about Fable was the complete irrelevance of killing Whisper. Either way you wouldn't see her again. So why not just kill her and use the bonus gold to buy back the "goodness" you lost? Other than that, pretty awesome game.

actually i look at it like this. fable was a great game with a pretty descent amount of replayability. it *wasn't* the best fucking game ever made, but still a fun game as long as you put all the shit that Molyneux promised out of your mind.

and he even corrected the mistake in an interview for "fable 2" saying basically... hey, i ran my fucking mouth and promised things that we couldn't implement soon enough before the deadline, and for that i'm sorry

(this is a quote by the way)

i think we need more passionate people that actually give a shit what they're giving us as far as entertainment. that's the problem with hollywood with remake, after remake, after fucking remake. they just don't give a fuck, and they think we're stupid and won't know any better... !...

I have never played the first fable and I don't expect anything special from the new one coming out. :/

that was like perfectly stated.Molyneux is good, and he makes great games, but i think the development team needs to shut him the hell up so ppl like the game for what it is,and dont hate it because it has only half the things promised.
Yeah i agree, i played fable without hearing any of the glory he offered and found it a great game. then after i completed it, i heard what there could have been, and found myself disappointed

Peter Molyneux needs to shut up, like most of the time. Fable was an ok rpg but what was expected made me not buy it right away. I ended up waiting for bargain price. If Fable 2 isnt as good as Molyneux says it is im going to avoid lionhead studios entirely
