I've been wondering on everyone's opinions about how fable changed and some think that it maybe improving, or other people like myself find it to be degrading over time. I was even more upset about the new Fable Journey where it became a "kenect" game. any thoughts?

Fable was good.

Fable: TLC was great.

Fable 2 swayed between alright and good.

Fable 3 was meeeh, not really worth playing.

Fable: The Journey... I don't even know.

That's my opinion on the series.
Pretty much the same but witha slightly higher opinion of Fable 3. Only got really got bad when you just needed to grind cash to save the kingdom and stay good.

I never understood why a lot of people like the first one but not the others. They all seemed like much of a muchness to me.

They were... okay games, I guess. Nothing to write home about. They worked best when they were being tongue-in-cheek. THe combat was a bit too mediocre and frequent for me to really get into them. I finished F:TLC, but gave up on the others about halfway through.

The only one I've enjoyed is Fable 3 on the basis I really enjoyed the King section and the temple of darkness was excellent.

I didn't really have a problem with any of them. If I had to rank all of the games I ever played, the Fable games would be somewhere in the middle with Fable TLC being the highest ranked of all three. They're fun enough games but are nothing really amazing.

Crap I accidentally voted for 2 :(

Anyway Fable 1 was a great game, if they made it a little more challenging, with slightly more customization options, and more in depth combat it would have been legendary.

Too bad they went the direction that they did. Like I respect Molyneux for trying new things, like weapon evolution which sounds great on paper but was rather dull in game, its just that a lot of the ideas were executed poorly

I didn't play Fable 1, but I liked 2. It wasn't amazing but it was good and I still go back to tool around in it from time to time. 3 had some good elements, but just fell short of the mark. Is Fable 1 worth playing now? Does it still hold up, or was it just good for its time?

Fable 1/TLC - Great.
Fable 2 - Good.
Fable 3 - Ambivalence.

I didn't like how Fable 3 was overly simplified and boiled down to what was essentially a Judge Judy simulator by the end. I'm terrible at decision making as well, so anything good I'd achieved over the game was instantly nullified by me being an idiot. Though as The Blue Rider said, the weapon evolution idea was pretty cool.

I still think the Fable series does have a truly excellent game in it, it's just that getting there appears to be a struggle. I'd like to see the magic system from Fable 1 return as well, where it was easier to perform different spells on the fly, as opposed to the 'charging' system adopted by later games.

I remember a video by LionHead where they said that what you did in Fable 2 would have an impact on Fable 3. So, I decided to create 4 separate characters thinking they would somehow integrate into the storyline of Fable 3.

Big disappointment there.

How hard would it have been to have something like your Fable 2 character's favorite weapon waiting for you when you became the King in Fable 3?

Plus, in Fable 3 there wasn't enough time/warnings once you became king. I think there 3 times you could return to the treasury before the battle takes place. Luckily, I had enough gold for the battle, but it was still a jarring experience.

Loved the original Fable and Fable 2.

Fable 3 - I liked it since it was Fable!

Fable Journey? - I don't have a kinnect, and won't be getting one just to play. I don't want to be waving my arms around to cast magic, just let me hit a button.

I really hope that whatever Fable game comes out after "Journey" is better planned out - the franchise is at a point of becoming a parody of itself, but they also have the chance to take it in a new and fresh direction if done right.

My opinions exactly. While I had a bit of fun with fables 2 and 3, they were wrought with WEIRD gameplay mechanic choices, lionhead trying REALLY hard to pretend fable wasn't an rpg, the forgetting of interesting plotlines from fable/fable TLC that pretty much just stopped dead in their tracks and so forth.

Fable: TLC was great. Love that game.

Fable 2 for me was a giant let down. More so than Fable 3. I was so hyped for a sequel that when it was just meh, to me that meant it was dogshit. Fable 3 fixed some things, ruined some other things, but mostly just sort of did the same as Fable 2.

Also, Fable: Journey? Fuck you Lionhead, I'm not buying Kinect to play your game.

I didn't like Fable 1 - just frustrated me.
Really loved the second one, as I liked the storyline, and it had smoothed out the glaring problems from the first one.
Despised the third, mainly for awkward storyline choices that made no sense, a stark lack of midland between good and evil (which has always been there, but was even worse in F3).
