Hiya escapists.

I'm wearing red nail-polish right now and I feel fabulous.

Which makes me wonder: Would I be able to pull off crossdressing?
Not in the comical drag queen way, but in a convincing "trap" way.

Which in turn has me wanting to ask you: Would you be able to pull off a convincing look/performance as someone of the opposite sex, provided you had some makeup, corsets, bandages and other equipment available?

Anecdotes related to crossdressing are encouraged.

interesting question

Ive never been really feminine...and a while ago I watched "boys dont cry"

while facially perhaps, I think a bit skinny/small

...the illusion is best when your fat and get that blob/curvy look that both female and females can have

I find it interesting that in Transamerica they got a women to play a male to female transexual (you'd think it would be more straight forward as a male) but it did really help blur things, which was the Idea

Crossdressing in public has always been one of my fantasies, but I don't think I could really pull it off. Too handsome and masculine ;)

As long as I don't say anything and shave every inch of hair on my body, I'll be good.

I have actually tried on a skirt before, but, it was only for a bit of fun. Had my mom laughing hard. I was more surprised that I wore it so well.

Who knows, maybe I could pull it off.

My looks are quite unfabulous, I have a high and tight, and have a....masculine body type. Though I am quite good at acting and sounding, dare I say....fabulishously.

I've been mistaken for a girl several times. So... yes I would, and it would be fun.

My friends and I once had a bet where the loser would have to wear a dress/skirt for an hour... it turned out the we were all wrong, we all lost, and hilarity ensued. Can't say it was terrible, but I have no desire to do it again.

I've been mistaken for female before, but both times it was because I had a ponytail and it was from the back. Maybe if I grew my hair out long enough again I'd be able to pass for a girl, but only if I had shaved(which I don't do). Even then, it's not likely. Most girls aren't six and a half feet tall.

Nope, I'm lean but not to the point where I could pull of being a girl

Oh hell no. Not a chance in hell.

Well...Maybe if I got rid of ALL the facial hair, AND all the rest of the hair on my body (I'm pretty hairy), and had the works done (makeup, etc)...Then MAYBE, MAYBE I could pass. I'm pretty thin and stuff.

But realistically? No way in hell. I'd get spotted a mile away.

I do have a buddy who does it from time to time. I was totally fooled one time in particular (I was looking at a picture on his wall going "wait, why is that girl tagged wit his na-...OH WOW. He got me.". He's not bad at it.

Meh, I've tried it quite a few times, and I wasn't very convincing. Reason being my body hair. I have Eastern European heritage on my dad's side, giving me an extremely hairy body. However, for various reasons (mainly vanity), I do intend to shave it all off, or use hair removal cream, or something, as soon as I move out of my parents' house (where I've been since leaving university). When I have my own place again then I'll probably take up crossdressing again, purely as a hobby, and I dare say at that point I'll be quite convincing, once my body hair is gone. I'll actually be able to make an effort to look good :).

I would be about as convincing as Tim Curry. Which is good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

Considering I am rocking a forked beard right now Ima say no.
I am just too solid that even with a great set of fake tits I would still look like a solidly built dude with tits.
A friend of mine describes me as a 5'10" Dwarf.

I've tried to go for Halloween as a guy once. It... didn't work well. A cosplayer friend explained to me how to bind my chest... one too-tight sports bra and two ACE bandage applications later, my chest was still visible even with a loose shirt. And I could barely breathe. And that's not even getting started on my waist/hip ratio... so... yeah. No can do here.

If it was just based on how I act... meh, I've been told my personality's more masculine than feminine before. I wouldn't have to change much. And my hair's short enough that I could easily make it look like a guy's haircut.

I'm wearing jeans and a t shirt. Yesterday I wore jeans and a t shirt. The day before I wore jeans, a t shirt, and a hoodie because it was cold.

Ya... wouldn't work for me. I'd be able to pad, but I'd have to shave my rather luscious beard off, the chest hair, the leg hair... Do my eyebrows... My facial structure is rather masculine, and I have the musculature of a man... I could probably do it, but it'd take a shit ton of work and still wouldn't look very good.
