Have had stubble for years. Feels weird to be without it. Why do I have this? Because it feels manly. There, I said it, and it's true, even if I probably wouldn't admit it if someone asked me face to face.

I'm going for full beard. My girlfriend very much approves. I'm also getting a pipe and a hat. Life is good.

My facial hair still grows pretty slowly, and it isn't fully developed yet, so I keep it stubbed(I'm sure that's not the right word). Going smooth is just an annoyance.
Had a failed goatee before. Gonna save for up for it again soon!

Right now it's just stubble, can't be bothered growing it again so I just shave whenever it starts to annoy me.

Though in my experience girls tend to like the whole rugged, stubbly look aesthetically (practically not so much though)

I am genetically incapable of growing a full beard. Hell even a goatee. I have accepted that fact and I can't say I've ever had sleepless nights because I'll never have a beard.

So to answer the question: Clean.

i sport the general short beard/really long stubble. girlfriend hates me being clean shaven, which is a plus seeing as i hate it too.

anybody who tries mocking you for growing a beard, most likely cannot grow one themselves...

I have no idea if chicks dig facial hair, I'm not exactly a social person so I don't spend much time with the ladies.

Normally I have a serious set of chops but I'm looking for work right now so they had to go. I do keep sideburns at all time, they go just bellow my ears. I think I'm going to lose some weight before I grow back the chops, they make my face look fat, not that it needed any help to begin with.

In only a week I look like an average person who hasn't shaved in a month. In two weeks it feels like I've got sandpaper glued to my face. It's all about preference I guess.
...You lucky basterd. It takes about two days for me to get that effect. Two goddamn day! And I look like some kind of bum. According to my friends atleast, when I haven't shaven for 2-3 days...
Consider yourself lucky. Its what I do. Its been 4 days since I last shaved and my hair is dark so it looks like I already am starting to get the facial hair back. I feel like sandpaper is on my face right now.
Pshh, taint nothin. I shaved 2 hours ago and my facial hair has grown 15 feet since then.

It's simple. Make sure your neckbeard is shaven. Shave that every day if you can. Trim the rest to a couple of millimeters in length. If you invest in an electric beard trimmer, that would be handy.

Beards are cool, but only if you maintain it. Getting lazy is a bad idea. You end up looking like a dick who thinks he's all grown up now because he can grow the chin pubes.

Eh....when I get my hair cut, I get it cut super short, and I shave my face down to a small, fairly short goatee. Then, I just let everything grow unchecked for like four months until I look like a caveman, and then I repeat the process.

The facial hair has been creeping up higher on my cheeks, so I'll obviously keep that under control throughout. But beyond that...I just let it go.

I like a man with nil to modorate facial hair. Full of beards scare me and I don't find them attractive either.

Ah facial hair is a wonderful thing. I myself can't seem to settle on a particular style. I seem to keep alternating between either;

Or;

It all really depends on what style you prefer and how your facial hair grows. Oh and if a girl loses interest just because you grow facial hair then she should rightly fuck off.

I like facial hair. Every now and then, I trim it down so I don't look like a Dragon Age character who has never heard of a razor.

My beard and me will never part. Plus I'm very handsome and with my long dark hair I might be mistaken for a lady.

So, someone gonna post that Family Guy clip?

I never think my face looks right without my beard and moustache. also, it gets cold.
I'm the same. It's just not me if I don't have my beard...

Also, many people have said that it looks sexy on me, so who am I to shave off my sexiness?

It all depends on your age, 17-18 is the minimum age for facial hair imo... (or depending on how ergh... mature? your body looks).

Nothing makes me laugh more than these little 14-16 year old whimps with a mustache, it makes them look like small perverts.

in Norway we call it "runkebart" which translates to "masturbation mustache".

Female, 32. I think beards are awesome, especially goatees and similar small, well-trimmed beards (though I'm not against the longer types). Mustaches as well, again well-trimmed. My best friend has a good goatee-mustache thing going, and he looks *hot*. So... yeah.

For context, I do feel that hair length shows a man's relationship to authority. It's a complex issue for me, but basically, if a guy's got hair long enough to cover his ears, I wouldn't marry him; and what I'm not comfortable marrying, I don't date. But I don't hold beards to quite the same standard (short hair on head and long beard seems okay in my mind).

I do confess that I enjoy long hair on fictional male characters. But then, I also enjoy "bad boy" types in fiction that I'd never even consider dating. So make of that what you will.
