The sentence makes sense as a proverb, but overanalyzing it is pointless. (yes, it would be a paradox)

yeah that sums it up

the issue is most people do plan but they don't realize they do.

ie you don't just run out the door as soon as you wake up and try to hop in your car and drive off, simply because you may or may not get arrested for indecent exposure and traumatize your neighbours, you may also lock yourself out of the house and not have keys to your car and you might also be very hungry

what you do is you wake up, have a shower, get dressed, grab your keys, have some breakfast and then walk outside.

and while those actions don't seem like you are planning, you are in fact planning your day out

The best bits in life aren't planned, which probably makes them better.

But I'd say it's correct and now I offer the police's version, The Seven Ps.
Prior Planning & Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

It should be the 8 p's
Prior Planning Plus Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

I got this so much last year doing my GCSE's. Yes it makes sense I suppose in the sense your not prepared but it doesn't apply because some people can wing it and do it as it goes along and succeed.

They can't. People say they can, but in reality they worked their asses off and don't like admitting it.

Don't know if this actually fits, but...
Going about things without any idea is bound to fail.
But if you think too far ahead, you tend to stumble about the things right in front of you.
Personally, I like having a general idea of what I'm going for.
The details I work out as I go along.

Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail

You are not over analysing this, you aren't analysing it enough. The original phrase was written in Engrish, written:

Falling Off Plane Is Going To Be Fatal

This does not however mean that falling off a plane will be fatal, as it will be, but otherwise being stupid is one day going to kill you. One man, ignoring this statement was half blind and read this wrong and wrote in his philosophies:

Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail

He thought he was such a clever dick he published this stolen jargen and one day it reached the world. Then, one similarly stupid man decided to post a thread about it, resulting in the leader of a stupid clan called TheMushroomClub to post a silly response, highlighting his stupidness to The Escapist community. Vote for me in the EU elections!

Well, when under pressure an individual's ability sinks to their level of preparation.

So, failing to plan would be planning to fail.

My math teacher has this on the wall. I don't mind plans, in fact without them the world would fail (or maybe just every building). But one thing I never will do in my life is plan my day, I think it is robotic for me to do such a thing.

If you plan to fail then would it really count if you do fail, because that is what you planned on doing. If you fail then you will really be succeeding in your goal to fail. Wrap your head around that paradox.

So... I was thinking this, is it correct.

I mean, if you fail to plan, thats simple enough. But planning to fail assumes you've had to plan in the first place, which is illogical as you've failed to plan.

A paradox springs to mind.

So, what do you fellow Escapians think?
This reminds me of a recent game of Halo 3 in which I found myself in a team of noisy random Americans playing against an eerily silent clan who had set all their emblems to look like 70's Blaxploitation heroes (i.e. brown faces with big dark Afros). I thought it was quite amusing, but the other members of my "team" (who I thankfully didn't know in real life) started shouting the worst racist insults at them in the lobby.

That's it, I thought. I'm not standing for this. Normally, I would make an effort and play as well as I could so that my team won (I don't care much about advancing my own rank, so a lot of my tactics involve "suicidal insanity" - something that reaps unexpected rewards the more I do it; I'm not Ultrasupercompetitive), however, I was angered at the racism and didn't want my team to win.

Betraying them would just get me booted, so I went around grenading all our vehicles and using up all the ammo in the Sniper rifle harmlessly. Rockets got wasted. Team mates in conflict with the "black guys" would get their shields weakened from behind with a few shots from my Battle rifle. I was busy.

They called me a jerk, a noob and far, far worse insults as their ability to "prove their Supremacy" slipped away from them. Some quit.

However, despite planning to fail (our side lost), it was what I wanted, so in that sense I achieved my moral victory.
