Poll: Fallout: 3 GOTY or New Vegas

it is but.....they're extremely similar
making it pretty much pointless to get both

OOOOHHHHHHH, Game of the Year edition. Well, I suggest getting Fallout 3: GOTY before you get New Vegas. Despite what a couple of people have said, it's much much bigger and more expansive than New Vegas, plus the free add-ons are really a lot of fun (I'm one of the schmucks that paid for it.)
New Vegas is fun and has a lot of better game play mechanics (Like the different ammo types and faction system) but Fallout 3 is a must, where as New Vegas is good if you want to play more Fallout 3, just a little differently. Ugh, I'm ranting and I don't know if that made any sense at all.

Honestly, FO3 GOTY.

I prefer Fallout 3 to New Vegas so far, but I've put in far more hours so I might not have an unbiased opinion.

Plus, for the price......

You can easily put 100 hours into FO3 before DLC. It's a great game, and personally I'd wait for the majority of the bugs to be ironed out in FO:NV

I vote that you get FO3. My reasoning is that, you can play FO3 and enjoy it, then move on to New Vegas at some point in the future. If you start with New Vegas, though, it might be difficult to go back to FO3, which lacks some of the fancier features of NV. Just food for thought.

I personally loved GOTY, though, and New Vegas hasn't sucked me in the same way that FO3 did, but that's my personal opinion.

Agreed. I've played both but I was way more immersed in the FO3 world than the NV one.

Play Fallout 3 first. I love both games but Fallout 3 is better to me. Also make sure you look at some of the mods for it before you pick.

Fallout 3 GotY. You'll get more for your money and there are more mods for it too.

Only from Mods, even with the GoTY edition, New Vegas still has more content. I'd say New Vegas anyway, just because Its already got more then F3, and I think theres still some DLC on the way.

I don't know... It took me about 300 hours to explore every nook and cranny in F3, and about 70 hours to do the same in NV.

New Vegas has a whole lot more content, but is also supremely buggy, though obviously that sort of stuff will and is being patched. I'd say pick up Fallout 3 first though. There's still dozens of hours worth of gameplay to be had and it will set you up nicely for New Vegas in the process.

FO3 GOTY. Just play them in order of release. Not reason not to. Plus, you'll save a little bit of money in the short term by just picking up a copy of Fallout 3.

If you like Fallout 3, then you'll definitely get around to New Vegas sometime. I'm sure of it.
