Fallout 3, since I just couldn't find myself immersed into Oblivion. That made it something of a chore to play it, while I immediately got sucked into Fo3 where hours could go by without me noticing it.

Fallout 3 is better than Oblivion, but Morrowind is still better than both (except graphically of course).

Although I enjoyed Fallout 3 and had some good times playing Oblivion I will have to say I hate both because both dropped you off in the middle of a vast world after a scene setting tutorial with nothing in the way of a direction or purpose (sure, you could pursue the main storyline if you want but in both cases it was criminally short and felt flimsy, like you were missing out on the best each game had to offer).

Oblivion Oblivion Oblivion Oblivion Oblivion Oblivion (etc.)

I will defend Oblivion until my death. It's one of my all-time favourite games, despite it's flaws.

Fallout 3. Easily. I hated Oblivion.

Despite the many times this poll has been done, I actually find it kinda interesting because the results are so evenly spread out. Fair amount of people who hate Fallout and love Oblivion and also quite a few that love Fallout and hate Oblivion. And then of course, loads who love both! It's odd and both games really are quite similar in terms of production style, graphics engine and overall gameplay. Yet they're entirely different! And this is officially the nerdiest thing I've written today, and I'm gonna stop now because it's probably not interesting to anyone but me.

Argh, It's like the Sophie's choice of gaming right there! I love them both, but pressed hard, I'd have to go with Oblivion - although perhaps my view of it is made slightly more rosy due to having the PC version with lots of excellent mods, while I have the buggy PS3-version of Fallout 3. An impossible choice...

I feel like oblivion layed the groundwork for fallout and then did some unique crap. But i prefer guns over swords. Fallout had better voices and more interesting missions, events and morality. But oblivion was fun and you could easily become an overpowered badass, whi,le i feel like a badass while playing fallout. But i think fallout 2 awsome too and i hated morrowind. So i think i will go with fallout 3

They're both buggy, and has all uncanny valley characthers and is more or less unplayable unmodded. My favorite (with the proper mods ofc) is Fallot 3.
Marts Mutant Mod - to add much needed variety, makes the ai much smarter.
FOOSE - the scriptextender that is needed as a platfor for other mods
A damage increase mod that increases all damage - because 5 hunting rifle rounds in the head to bring down a common super mutant is just ridiculus.
FOOK2 - well... just because.
afer these the game gets enjoyable.

Fallout 3: It's Oblivion, with EXPLOSIONS!
Also, not a fan of the fantasy medieval setting.

Fallout 3, because it has guns. As much as i love swordfights, RPG's, dark ages, fantasy and great writing of Oblivion (i think), you just can't top shooting people in their face and ripping them apart with your grenades.
Mostly it's because I'm always going as a tank (or something that stands in corner and shot's he's most powerful stuff at enemies), Oblivion seem to think that I'm going with magic (that i hate) and bow's (that i don't like to use).

I have to go for Oblivion, although Fallout 3 is very good in its own way. There's just something about Oblivion, maybe the setting or the more melee-oriented combat, but I just like it better.

Oblivion, fallout was just not as good I felt, though I do love fantasy. Also, please use the search bar, this thread happens far too often, especially so long after their respective releases.

ATTENTION Thread of Fail: I, the herald of truth, have come to inform you that you have, indeed, failed. Both games are nothing compared to the unstoppable force of brilliance that is known among you mortals as "Morrowind." Although that was probably before the majority of your times if I were to guess at your average age. That is all.
