Elder Scrolls, just on the hope that they'll turn away from crap like Oblivion and go back to Daggerfall...

Fallout 3 was a great game, but as a Fallout game, it wasn't that great.

And I want more Dark Brotherhood.

The mansion quest has to be my favorite quest of any game. Its not that hard, but I just fucking love it so much.

Knowing that no plants = no food for animals = slow death up the food chain, I can't buy the viability of the ecosystem. So once the food stores ran out there would be the end of the survivors.
Wrong. There are plants. Villages in Fallout 1 grew mutated corn and cabbage. Bethesda didn't add plants because people think plants are boring, and no doubt they were focusing on other things (or they outright forgot about plants).

I'm for Elder Scrolls, mostly because Obsidian, the guys that would do Fallout best, are working on a Fallout title. Elder Scrolls is a Bethesda thing, so it's naturally going to be something that they'll do better on. Especially since they botched the universe for Fallout. If Elder Scrolls V has features like Morrowind (competing factions, massively unique map, awesome immersion, good leveling, etc.) I would buy it in a heartbeat. I'm a sucker for Elder Scrolls in general, though...

Also: Morag Tong for the win.

Depends if Elder Scrolls V is gonna be anything like IV, in which case I'll be running towards Fallout 4. Not like it matters, I'll probably end up buying both anyway : P

I could never really love the combat in Oblivion. But in Fallout, get a slow-mo of your bullet cracking a skull? Yes please.

Don't make me choose! That's like asking me whether I want something orgasmic or orgasmalicious. Frankly, I want both.

I have to say that Oblivion would be better. Fallout 1-3 so far have been pretty much the same minus gameplay. You're in a post apocalyptic world where you have to find stuff to survive. Personally i believe with such a premise of the past with Oblivion is more open and could be more promising. From what i've seen, Oblivion 3 was really good, and 4 (which i've played) is amazing. Fallout 1 and 2 were not liked as much by action savvy gamers. Investing in the pattern would probably be better.
you are an idiot you havn't even played them so be quiet and sit in the corner
I own all of the games in question minus Morrowwind.
Piss off troll, this is an opinion thread.

Being that I have been playing Fallout 3 regularly for over a year now (this is the only game I can say this about), and it's been a loooong time since I last played Oblivion, I'm definetly ready for a refreshing trip back to the Elder Scrolls.

I know absolutely nothing about New Vegas, and frankly, the release doesn't make sense to me. I'm not even remotely excited about it right now. I'll probably end up buying it though, as long as they don't screw it up.

I hate to post twice, but I can't let this go, I literally laughed out loud when I read your post. I honestly don't even know what opinion you're trying to support.

Fallout 1 and 2 are absolutely NOTHING like Fallout 3. There is way more to the stories than just surviving. The fact that they all take place in a post apocalyptic world means nothing. By that logic, you could say that Halo and Star Wars are pretty much the same.

"Personally i believe with such a premise of the past with Oblivion is more open and could be more promising." What are you talking about? How was Oblivion more open than Fallout 3? And what do you mean a "premise of the past", that has nothing to do with the quality of the game, or how open it is.

If you had played the Elder Scrolls series, you would call it "Elder Scrolls". Not Oblivion 1-4. There was only one Oblivion, and it was Elder Scrolls IV. But yes, we all know Morrowind and Oblivion were good. It's nothing new.

Fallout 1 and 2 obviously weren't aimed at "action savvy gamers". Just like racing games aren't aimed at strategy-savvy gamers.

"Investing in the pattern would probably be better." What?! Who is investing? What pattern? Better than what? That made absolutely no sense.

I loved both and spent many hours playing each. But I want a new Elder Scrolls game. It's been way too long...

Mainly I wanna go for Fallout 4.

the Wasteland proved an amazing, if even somewhat depressing place to deal with what might be considered the Post-Apocolyptic life, something I never before experianced in any game. And in that game, we might get to know tha cannon Fallout 3 Lone Wanderer, just as we did the Fallout 1 Vault Dweller at Fallout 3.

Elder Scrolls V?

well, truth be told, I am somewhat interested, they could map the game out with all the provinces in Tamriel, including Morrowind, or maybe Hammerfell.

the Elder Scrolls univers is, however, a midievil-fantasy francise, something that's been done before many times, even if I consider the Elder Scrolls to be in ways the Star Wars of the midievil-fantasy theme. So I'm not exactly interested that much, at least not yet.

Can we not have both?

Since I have to choose... Fallout 4 because I like the setting better. I dig the whole post apocalyptic wasteland roaming feel of Fallout over the fantasy setting of Oblivion. Not to say that Oblivion isn't a good game or anything, but I just like the setting of Fallout better.

Fallout 4.

I just enjoy Fallout more. Now if only my PC could handle Fallout 3 and not just Oblivion.....

i liked elder scrolls iv better even though it needed more modding than fallout 3 to equal out the game play. it seemed that bethesda learned alot from oblivion and implemented well into fallout. i hope it's a trend that will continue to both games. if i understand thing correctly there won't be another elder scrolls but the next game will be based in the same world. the prophecies that were the "elder scroll" have ended. Skyrim, i think that were it will be.
