Seeing that it is unlikely that Bethesda would not make another Fallout game do you think you would buy it. It could be released in like 20 years time for all we know but I want to know if you would buy it on release, no questions asked. I know I most certainly would. What would you like to see in it.

Fallout : Australia!

The amount of death dealing insects/animals we have already would be nuts in the Fallout universe.

edit - voted yes btw.

So after the double negative in your intro, I'm assuming you're saying it's likely that Bethesda will make another Fallout, in which case I agree with you.

I though 3 and NV were both enjoyable, and I don't get any sense of general resentment towards the series outside of the typical Bethesda issues and maybe some writing regression. I would buy the game and I expect most people who enjoyed the last two would as well.

As far as what I'd like to see, I'd like a setting where the bombs didn't hit directly that's greener than the previous games (I know NV didn't get hit directly, but deserts are brown by default). I'd like to see more nonviolent solutions to objectives. I'd like the return of the treatment of companions from NV, where they each had their own viewpoint and arc and sidequests and stuff. I'd be interested to see if they could somehow incorporate the larger scale of 1 & 2 into the current 1st person sandbox style, like how the map for 2 was half the state of California plus a good chunk of Nevada, while 3 and NV were each about 12 square miles of their respective states.

I'm throwing my money at the screen, but nothin's happenin'! :O

In short; yes.

In long, Skyrim was a small fix; like caffeine to a coke addict. I need my hit, Bethesda!

I enjoy using double negatives. It's like toying with someone.

I doubt I'd buy it if Bethesda developed it. If Obsidian developed it, I'd pre-order.
Please please please please please at the very least co-develop it with Obsidian. They have Tim Cain as full-fledged staff now! Cain! Sawyer! AVELLONE!

I played Fallout 3 and didn't enjoy it. That was my first foray into Fallout games, so I thought I just didn't like the series. But then I decided to give New Vegas a chance when I heard all about the faction system, which was something I had been saying for a long time that Bethesda games needed. And I freaking love New Vegas. I'm currently on my...fifth playthrough? It's just wonderful.

What would I want to see in it? More cause and effect. More heavily themed quests like there were in New Vegas (especially the DLC). I'd like them to center us on a community. Make us really feel part of it, to the point where we will want to come back and check in. Let us try to help that community in different ways (or destroy it) and have it change over the course of the game.

One of the most interesting parts of a post-apocalyptic game to me is the rebuilding of communities, cities, and societies. I'd like to be a direct part of them, and have the changes be tangible.

Hopefully Bethesda will co-develop it with Obsidian. It seems unlikely they would hand a new Fallout game over to Obsidian. I agree with you though, Obsidian did a good job on Fallout: NV.

Not only would I buy, I would pre-order the limited-fanboy collection with joy. But, I would rather have Bethesda develope it as they are truly masters of creating living worlds. I would think twice about buying anything Obsidian made, as New Vegas felt more than a mod/expansion than a game of its own.

They could set it in Canberra and they wouldn't even have to change anything.

I was the first person to select Bacon Answer?

Shame on you internet, shame on you.

While Fallout in another location would be cool, the 1950-1960s nuclear era style of American culture is kind of.....the entire point of the universe and why its different from other post-apoc games. Would seem weird to take it out of its element.

Unless I heard it was the worst game ever (from non-crazy sources) I wold be keen. Fallout 1 -3 and NV are all games I have completed multiple times. Fallout 2 is the one I have played through the least - only completing it twice!

So they I have all the time in the world for another Fallout game - they have given me hours upon hours of entertainment.

If Bethesda develops it then I'll probably buy it long after it's out on sale for like $10.

If Obsidian develops it or at least writes the game then I'll buy it upon release.

Damn right I would.

I love me some open world gameplay and Bathesda/Obsidian have given me some of the best hours in my gaming life.

I adored Fallout 3, so I'm fairly sure I will. If the PC-version is mod-friendly, then it'll be mine.

And although it'd be very interesting with a Fallout-game abroad, I do agree, it's not the best idea. A lot of the spirit of the universe stems from the nostalgia of an alternative '50's, where the atoms were mankind's future, there was a moist steak in the oven, a Nuka-Cola in the fridge and America dominated the globe. Well, before all the false dreams came crumbling down 'round our ears. It's that atmosphere that sucked me in, and it'd be difficult to recreate abroad. In the same way I don't think S.T.A.L.K.E.R would feel the same set in Harrisburg or Fukushima.

But it's a nice fantasy, though. Imagining how the rest of the world must look like. But I honestly think it's more interesting if the state of the world is largely unknown, except for perhaps some references or NPC's.
