Hi guys just new to The escapist! Was just wondering if anyone else thought that if Fallout games had the option for the protagonist to be a ghoul it would add a whole new depth to the story? Tell me what u think?
It would probably work more with fallout new vegas, as you aren't from vaults, but as you say it would be more difficult with the ones before it.Gralian said:I'd just like a memorable ghoul character like that foxy ghoul chick you get pregnant from the Van Buran Fallout 3 demo. You know, instead of caricatures like Raoul and that nutcase in Point Lookout.
I think playing as a ghoul would be a great idea. I would certainly do it. It would be like playing as an Argonian or Khajiit in the Elder Scrolls games; some might look towards you with contempt, making some discussions or quests more difficult, while other ghouls may look much more favourably upon you and make other quests easier and possibly open up more interesting dialogue. Unfortunately it means they'd probably have to go about making two protagonists since you'd need a way for the main character to have gone through the transformation process by being in the middle of a radioactive explosion or something, and to date, protagnists in the Fallout universe are mostly Vaulties holed up comfortably underground away from all that nastiness.
I think it was fairly clear what I meant, regardless of specifics.Ultratwinkie said:Look up. You don't get stat "boosts," you get stat penalties and an immunity to radiation.The-Epicly-Named-Man said:It's something I've always wanted myself, but only if they implemented it well. I don't want just a normal character with a few skill boosts and the odd dialogue option, but it would be great if most characters acted completely differently around depending on your race (or is it species?). Also, anyone else think that the option to be an intelligent Super Mutant would be cool? Hey, maybe even a Night-Kin option as well.
