I believe that all the Factions are a load of crap. Chill out in Freeside and help The Followers of the Apocalypse. Simple.

Oh, and if you want to stir up some trouble, head to Caesar's Legion Fort with Arcade Gannon and ED-E and wipe 'em all out!

if u have the pc version, install a mod called return of the Enclave and hang out with them. then you complete the wild card quests with the full might of the enclave behind you! a useful tip is that sometimes, when you are in battle (provided you picked the option to be a member of the enclave) a squad of enclave soldiers will come to your aid via vertibird (learned this while i was killing NCR troops outside Helios 1. the enclave guys just swooped in and six soldiers managed to wipe out the entire NCR prescence in Helios 1!). so yeah, just use that and do the wild card. trust me, it's lots of fun :D

I say screw them both and take over Vegas for yourself. Vegas belongs to the people!

Out of the two choices though, I guess I would probably pick NCR. Mainly because they're the only faction in which you can have the Brotherhood help you out in the final battle. Although House would be good for Vegas's long term future.

I'd say go with the Yes Man ending.
I don't remember what it was, unfortunately, but something about Mr. House rubbed me the wrong way.
The NCR? Militaristic tyrants, hipocrites and oppressors.

Wild Card. Bestest most epic ending that makes it easy to not have to murder every major faction at all turns 'cept for the very very end. And there is a certain cinematic:
Yes Man punching The general off of Hoover dam
that can make your day time and time again ^.^

I choose NCR simply cuz it add more time to the game but be aware that i had a save file just before the choosing option for NV so i did see all endings and after that it seemed pointless to keep on playing.
So my advice is keep each playthrough on different options

Me personally? Mr. House. The benefits to the courier are much, much bigger under House, and I suspect House would give the courier a lot more power to exercise changes in policy than the NCR.

Let's also not forget that Mr. House has an enormous amount of invaluable pre-war knowledge that is lost if he dies. It's irresponsible to just flush all of that scientific expertise down the pooper.

Yes Man. New Vegas has to stand on its own. The NCR bled itself dry trying to occupy the Mojave, the Legion would stretch way too far in its war with NCR to be a viable nation, and House is an asshole. He might be Odo, but he's a Founder at heart. What you cannot control you destroy.

So I take that away. Nobody controls anyone else. Through anarchy, I free the Mojave of its bonds. Trade with the NCR will continue, the Brotherhood will take a more active role in protecting humanity against the dangers of the raiders, and the Legion will be stymied by my Robot Death army.

Er.. what? Did you talk to anyone in the Brotherhood? They have no interest in protecting anything but their own interests. The west coast Brotherhood isn't comprised of boy scouts like in Fallout 3.

So the ending I got where it mentioned Brotherhood members patrolling the Mojave and being on even terms with the NCR doesn't amount to anything? The brotherhood might be a bunch of assholes, but I got them to work alongside their enemies and settle their differences.

Oh, cool beans then. I always just blew them up because they seemed like a bunch of thugs hindering the progress of humanity, but if there is an ending where they aren't worthless that's great.

Yep, you can convince them to work alongside the NCR at Hoover Dam. Also, with the Wild Card Ending, if you recruit the Enclave remnants then Arcade doesn't get arrested by NCR.

I prefer Mr. House. He was actually there in the Great War, and his defence cannons personally shot down most of the nukes aimed for Vegas. Without him the whole Mojave would be nothing but radioactive slag, whereas the NCR just moved in and decided to annex it much like the Legion.

I assume Legion isn't on the list because you know them to be the best, and don't want to waste our time.

Out of the inferior choices, Mr. House would be the best one. He's the easiest to take down if he screws the pooch.

Kill Caesar before the final battle. It does not really change the finally battle at all and you get to have the satisfaction of taking out "The Fort".

I liked the NCR better. I always prefer a mortal ruler, since it means he won't be able to rule forver, and someone will eventually replace him.

Why is this thread still around? Haha, OP made this post over two years ago, I think he has made his decision.

Ave, brother. Perhaps you have rejected the legion out of hand?

Consider this: The bombs set society back to square one. Every other society in history has been built on the one before it, but the one before ours destroyed itself. The NCR seeks to recreate that exact society, and are on the same path to self-destruction. If we are to create a more stable and sustainable world, we must provide the foundations for that world ourselves. We must create a place of law and security from outside threats before we can consider trying to implement more individual benefits. We do what we must for the good of all, so that one day, the society built from ours can begin to work for the good of the individual as well.

If you must still refuse Caesar's will, then at least, do not allow the NCR unfettered rule over the Mojave. Their mismanagement and overstretching will only lead to more suffering under the guise of liberation.

Edit: Apologies, it appears the slave techies have misjudged the date of your query. They will be summarily whipped, and I will most certainly not be sending legion assassination squads to everyone who saw this in order to hide our weakness regarding technology. Have no fear.
