Quick zombies defeats the purpose of them being zombies, they're more like druggos or something.

Now the slow kind that bites people and turns them into zombies kinda zombie is the real sort of zombie, I'm sick of all this 'Infection' virusey crap we're bombarded with.

What happened to the classic guy comes back from the dead and starts biting people kind of story, then they all shamble their way into towns and cities and wreak havoc and shit?

Fast zombies are nightmares on legs to deal with, man. You know that's true. You wanna sleep tonight? Fight SLOW zombies. Then, you won't have the Walking Dead nightmare where the guy on the horse didn't make it!

Both.

The way I see it the earlier into someones un-life the faster they are. When someones immediately turns they've basically got a human body but with no pain limits, so they're capable of near-superhuman strength (like Meth addicts) and incredible speed as they can't feel any fatigue. But after a while all the damage caused by their activities, muscles torn, bones broken and other factor slows them, because they have no regenerative processes. They become the shambling undead.

That said of course the body before zombiefication plays into it as well. Fat people will of course be slower than say athletic people when they become zombies.

In a video game and movie, fast zombies just add to the terror. While the slow, shambling corpses terrify you in a sort of Dead Space way, where you just might be able to shoot them before they get to you sort of thing, having a zombie run at you at full pelt is mortifying. So many things factor into your mind when this happens.

"Look! A Zombie! Shootitshootshootshootshoot! Dang I missed! Shoot again! I got him! Yeah! Oh, it was a survivor running from another hoard of zombies..."

I find fast zombies more scary than slow ones but like others have mentioned they aren't really zombies but infected people. However, I do find that slow zombies are more intimidating.

Quick ones
1: They and intensity when fighting them
2: More of a fight
3: Feels more realistic because every animal (even people) go as fast as they can to catch their food.

Slow zombies are more traditional, but... honestly, I prefer a variation. Zombies who are capable of sprinting as long as their legs are relatively undamaged make more sense. So I guess I prefer Dawn of the Dead (remake)-type zombies.
A video game featuring them would still be all about survival, avoidance and resource conservation, though. None of those ridiculous, over-the-top Resident Evil or L4D zombies. Just undead humans.

Slow. Although I do not prefer Dead Rising 2 over L4D2. I think that the atmosphere created by being up against hundreds of slow and dimwitted zombies is just much more enjoyable than being rushed and trampled by a bunch of speedy ones. I dunno', just a preference I guess.
