I picked Sabbath, because they basically invented metal, but my favorites to listen to are Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
But I will always jam to some Sabbath. Fun guitar stuff. Everyone else complains because it's hard though. I need friends that can play instruments better.

There will never be a better metal band. Of course Maiden outlasted them, but they got to the party late and sometimes I think they've decended into self parody. For scaring the crap out of the moral guardians of the entire western world Black Sabbath will always be greatest.
