I love the light machine guns, because I've always like the feeling of being able to have supressing fire, and making everyone else take cover... just always felt nice, but when on the offensive, I enjoy a silenced SMG (or sniper for mw2, for ghillie suit) because stealth is always fun to use.

Throwing knife.

I remember it like it was yesterday...
My friend plays in MLG, and he was pratcieing for a game with his friends.
I was okay at the game, ranged from barely below average to above average, but I always sucked whenever he was watching me play for some reason.
Anyways, I was trying to tell him how good I was with the throwing knife, and he laughed, so I said I would play agsist his team with just a thowring knife.
He laughed, and said whatever.
Not two seconds later, a guy popped out, I threw my knife, and the game lagged...
The knife had lagged into the guys face.
I contued to only kill with the throwing knife, the game ended with me having a K/D ratio of around 30 to 3.
The look on my friends face was priceless.

SMGs I use because I like the feel more. Although if I get serious I tend to step it up to assault rifles because they just have way better range and are just generally over powered (YEH, I SED IT!! 
).
I did really like the TAR21 in MW2 because it had a pretty sweet fire rate. BUt generally I stuck to the UMP and in Blops (the few times I played it) I stuck with AK-74u (is that the one I mean?).

For multiplayer, I tend to vary between LMG's and Assault Rifles (either way, I spend more time staring at the respawn screen because of the 3 bullet rule (3 quick bullets in the you=death)).
For single-player, I greatly prefer the single shot assault rifles (like the FAL, M1, and the M14). Less ammo waste.

Shotguns, because they are hard to use in CoD when people could just spray you from 20 feet away. Specifically the Olympia because it is the worst and it forces me to think.
I just use that or Marathon to get the jump on people with my Olympia. Haven't used Hacker all that much yet, I prefer my Tactical Mask because I just love smokin' people out with Nova Gasjrubal1462 said:

Tactical Grenade: Decoy
Equipment: Claymore
Blue Perk: Scavenger Pro or Ghost Pro depending on my mood
Orange(?) Perk: Sleight of Hand Pro
Green Perk: Again depending on my mood, Ninja Pro or Second Chance Pro
