I really liked "The Real Barenziah" (and found the Biography of Barenziah much more hilarious in comparison). It then led me to go to the TES Wiki to read up on Barenziah, which taught me a lot of information about the Elder Scrolls lore that I didn't know (like the fact TES:Arena takes place closer to Oblivion then I thought).
Where were you when the dragon broke. If not for the khajiit conspiracy theorists then for the reference to alduin eight years in advance.

OT: I can't remember what its called but I read a book in Oblivion about this student chronicling the adventures of his teacher through the Daedric realms. Fascinating, informative and just a really good short story
