Poll: Favorite Fallout New Vegas Companion

I liked Cass up until I went to complete the quest "Birds of a Feather" with the Van Graffs, only to have her start a fight with them. After massacring them, she turns to me and says something along the lines of, "Why didn't you let me know you were going to start shooting?"

QUEST FAILED. RAGE. REVERSE PICKPOCKET GRENADE HER. Happiness.

So now I think my favorite is... no one. Arcade, maybe. Everyone is just awful. ED-E is a runner up.

Edit: I never did find Raul, I found his house, but he's never there. I'll have to look into that... perhaps there's hope yet.

He's being held captive on Black Mountain actually.
Raul was my favorite.
He's the most useful combat-wise, his perk is the best, and his lines are the best.
All around best.
Arcade didn't mesh too well with me due to his energy weapons focus.
Plus I did his quest for Enclave armor as soon as I got him, so I didn't really get a feel for him since you lose him at the end.

For gameplay I take ED-E and Raul for the durability bonus, but as for story and side quests I would say Arcade is the best. He is an understated character who believes in the goodness of mankind but has problems with the ultra-ideal methods of the NCR, he is openly gay but doesnt let it define him as a person, and he has a poignant choice in his mind, to stick to the values of the past and his family, or to abandon them as antiquated and move into the future. The only character without a serious moral conundrum is Lily, but her Alzheimer's choice is still pretty emotional.

I don't understand the love of Boone. He is just so dull. I can never bring myself to recruit him. After all, a fun companion (Veronica) is just down the road.

Raul. Best voice actor, best back story, sweet perks, and I like the cowboy outfit he gets when you do his backstory.

Boone is competent but dull as a box of rocks.
Veronica is interesting, but I can't keep her around on hardcore mode without having to constantly reload five times every fight just to make sure she lives through it.
Cass is somewhat competent, but her voice acting is awful and she is boring as hell.

The rest I haven't yet recruited so I don't have an opinion on.

Veronica for sure. Punching a bighorner's head off is funny every time.

Strength wise, probably Rose. Just give her a quality shotgun and she'll clear large numbers of enemies before you get your first shot off.

I'm on my first play through, sided with the Legion, so Boone now hates me, I fed Arcade to the Ultra Luxe crowd, let Rose get shot up by the Van Graffs, and blew up the Brotherhood of Steel before meeting Veronica. So, basically, I'm thinking Raul will end up being my favorite due to the whole "being alive and not hating your guts" part.

quick off-topic question here though, I can't get ED-E and Rex to follow me at the same time, yet I see people on here commenting on how good it is to have two companions at once. Are Rex and ED-E non compatable as battle buddies? that would be completly badass if I could get them both to follw me at once.

Character story wise? Raul. His backstory is awesome, good voice acting and generally funny. Reaaaaly close second for ED-E. Floating death, chest, music box, aggro warning companion that everyone needs.

Boone I like for the simple fact that he wrecks everything in the face... Seriously one OP companion.

I say ED-E, followed closely by Rex, then probably Arcade.

You can only have 1 human, and 1 non-human... Rex and ED-E are the only 2 non-human companions. Everyone else falls into the Human slot.

Technically speaking, he is hands down the best. None of the other perks match 75% slower weapon degrading (50% if you don't have his unmarked quest finished.)

That, and he's also a half dead gunslinging Mexican repairmen voiced by Danny Trejo.

I don't understand the love of Boone. He is just so dull. I can never bring myself to recruit him. After all, a fun companion (Veronica) is just down the road.

He used to be insanely powerful, just a balance issue by the devs.

I've been of the opinion that the Fllout 3 guy is called "The Lone Wanderer" for a reason, and it should carry to new vegas. I had a human companion around, and it made the game far easier than usual, and it's not a hard game. Rex, on the other hand, does not attack (bug) and if he did he'd suck anyway.

I'd have to say that Boone was the most useful, but Veronica was much more fun to have around, and clocked in at second place in usefulness. Plus, she was really cute, and my (female) Courier was totally into her.

I think Boone is the most useful since he actually does something. BUT
I like ED-E the best, he can't use any of my armor or guns. I can give him anything. He is essentially a floating cargo container that plays awesome music.

Well, non humanoid, ED-E wins hands down. Massive radar range beats telling which containers have loot in them when I am going to check them all anyway.

Humanoid, it's tough. Boone is cool, and I don't think he's nearly as dull as people say. That said, I was also quite partial to Cass, and Veronica wasn't bad either. Didn't get much of a feel for the other 2, unfortunately, but Lily does have a place in my heart for being found in Jacobstown, my favorite place on the map.

Sadly, no Dogmeat... and I find Rex to be a poor replacement. So Veronica it is.

I'd have to say that my favorite is Arcade. He amuses me and doesn't steal all my kills. I like Boone least because he destroyed everything before it even showed up on my Pipboy.
