Poll: Favorite Gundam Series?

Gundam, the only anime that can take the same concept and reproduce it countless times, while still making each coming extremely good. I, for one, am a major Gundam fan, having watched just about every series out there.

The first episode of Mobile Suit: Gundam aired in April 7th, 1979. That means that Gundam has been around for over 40 years, having spanned over several different series, as well as quite a few movies as well. Even though I took up all 8 of the poll choice slots, there are still quite a few series that got left out of the poll, if your favorite isn't in the list, vote for your preferred series and mention it in the thread.

While I love just about anything that Gundam puts out, my favorite series has to be G Gundam. now, several other Gundam fans will likely laugh at me for this choice, but I honestly don't care. G Gundam has the best soundtrack of any Gundam series, as well as the best protagonist. Let's face it, Domon is one of the only Gundam protagonists that doesn't start as either a pacifist or an emotionless dickwad, and I'm fairly sure he's just about the only one that fights outside of his machine on a regular basis. G gundam also had some truly epic moments, like when Domon first takes control of the Burning Gundam, that entire episode was a blast to watch.

I could go on and on about why I think that G gundam is one of the best Gundam series out there, but instead, I'm going to open up the floor to the rest of the people of the Escapist, so I ask you, once again.

What is your favorite Gundam series, and why?

I've only ever seen Gundam Wing and I really didn't like it apart from a couple of neat action scenes, so I never bothered to check out the others.

While I love G Gundamn, I just cannot deny that Gundam Wing is and will probably continue to be my absolute favorite of them all.

I love the characters, and the story just has a great feel to it. Also, its its gundam designs rocked.

Why did you have to say everything I wanted to say? Because that's exactly the same thing I experienced. Watched Gundam Wing, liked it, but I never looked closer into it since I normally don't like Animes that much.
Oh, and I didn't know there were other Gundams besides Wing.

Before I begin, I'm a huge Zeon and Char fan, so my choice is clouded my prejudice. I'd have to say Zeta, the entire political situation is horrible with the Titans and Neo Zeon's appearance makes matters worse. The question of Char being alive at the end was a good way to end, seeing how Haman had him cornered... after fighting off her and Scirocco at the same time. To me, having one of the biggest threats from the preceding series join the good guys and watching him fend off two of the big current threats (one who has funnels) at the same time was plain awesome to me.

Because I totally can't tell you're a Char fan from your Avitar or anything...

i would have voted for the 00 series, but i was first introduce to gundam by the "Wing" series so i had to go with it. although half the mechs were way overpowered.

Gundam wing ftw The best series of them all... ok ok that's one of the few i watched every episode of but it was still a kickass series.

I guess I'll vote for Zeta this time.

You know, there's a huge problem with this poll in that most people may have seen one or two of these series and can't really make an informed decision. I've seen Wing, G-Gundam, the original, Zeta, and a little of Seed--that being the one that turned me WAY off new Gundam series--and that pretty much covers it for me. NO IDEA about these other ones. I'd expect for a lot of people that it's the other way around and they've never seen the original, Zeta, or ZZ.
