long/shoulder length preferably, however i'd prefer it to be "kept tidy" rather than the length, as having long hair does nothing if it looks like raggity 2nd rate pubes coming out all over the place like the girl was just electrocuted.
anything above her ear length is a no go though, that is cuttin it too short for my personal taste.

I prefer short to mid length on guys but sometimes long hair can look good too.
Though I'm not much of a hair connaisseur, I have long blonde hair, which i've never dyed in my life and I haven't been to a hairdresser in about 6 years-ish and even then it was just a trim. It has stopped growing though, which is weird..

Shoulder length or a bit longer on a female. I've never been into short hair on ladies, and often longer hair ends up rather shapeless and styleless. Hair that's around shoulder length just generally has more innate style while still looking pleasingly feminine. Longer hair also tends to get in the way at times.
Shoulder length, female. I think its the best medium, and still looks as good as longer hair, imo, but without the maintenance and time requirements of longer hair. Mind you my close second choice 'is' longer, so, neither's a deal breaker. Bald or very short would be, I hate it when women in their 30s decide to do that.
I care more about the hairstyle then length but if I had to choose I guess around shoulder length hair. Everything else is good too except for bald. Seriously hell naw. I mean I get shit happens but still EWW.
Edit: I like black or brown hair though not a big fan of blondes except for a couple of exceptions.

Very much depends on the face type to be honest, there's no catch all hair length that would look good on anyone. In general though, I prefer shoulder length hair on girls I guess.
When my boyfriend lets his hair grow out to just the right length, he has this beautiful halo of soft large curls that end about halfway over his ears. I love it. It's great to sink my hands into. But he keeps cutting it short and it just feels wirey and sticks up in strange angles that cannot be described by any application of mathematics. Part of me wishes for perpetual winter, because then he lets his hair grow out to deal with the cold.
