Ashley. 3 guesses why.
Because you like xenophobic, crazy religious bitches?

Hey man, whatever floats your boat.
How does believing in god make her a "crazy religious *****"?

Well, she does harbour the "Humans are the chosen race of God." belief quite a bit, even willingly murdering a teammate who, depending on how you play, has saved her ass more times than you could remember.

She's not really a "Crazy religious *****", more like a "Crazy, religious, *****."

Liara, Garrus, Kaiden and Wrex are my favorites, my team was always either Liara & Kaiden or Garrus & Wrex.
I'm indifferent about Tali.
I liked Ashley until I found out she was a racist then I banished her from ever being in my squad again.

Crazy because she's racist
Religious because she believes in god
***** because she's racist

I never talked with my party much, other then to get in bed with them of course.

wrex and garrus mostly, because garrus had the electronic hacking and lockpicking and machine guns (all in one humanoid package) and wrex was good with machine guns and in a pinch could throw out some weird magic effects... er I ment mass effect effects.

I was all about utility, and assult rifles.

seriously if they didn't have a tallent that made their assult rifles better then they never rolled with me on missions.

Garrus is a master badass.
Agreed, he even has a cool eye patch scanning thingy so he can read power levels.
Garrus: "IT'S OVER NINE THOUSA..."
Sheperd: "STFU n00b!"

I don't really think so. I don't recall her ever giving the impression that she thought aliens were inferior, just that humans shouldn't rely on them. Racist undertones? Fuck yes. Do I think that she's ready to start an alien holocaust? Fuck no. Besides, I got the impression that she was trying to get over her preconceived notions, and that her feelings were really mostly due to resentment over her Grandfather's position.

As for the Wrex thing, that would be under Shepard's orders, not of her own accord.

Alright, while Ashley's not my favorite character by any stretch, I find myself defending her way more than I should. Instead of going into my normal lecture about her circumstances and how she's trying to change (unless you want me to), I'll just ask one thing: mentioning a belief in god makes someone "crazy religious"?
Comma fail on my part. It was meant to be "xenophobic, crazy, religious bitches."

Her craziness and religiousness aren't connected (directly).

I never really interpreted anything she did as conveying that belief, her character gives me more the impression of somebody who isn't very trusting, she is a soldier, and members of other species are more or less the equivalent of foreigners today, I find it quite reasonable that she wouldn't be that trusting of them around a high tech warship that has many classified components.

As for shooting Wrex, that is just simply acting as any soldier would, a merc pulls a weapon on your CO, its quite reasonable to shoot him right then and there, thats just acting like any soldier would.

No, when I played, she shot Wrex without so much as a warning. The conversation was heated, but not once did I think Wrex would have shot.

I think if she wasn't brought together with them under those circumstances, she'd be willing to kill them.

You can have a conversation with her near the end of the game where she essentially tells Sheperd that aliens cannot be trusted and have some hidden agenda against humans, which according to her is reason enough to be scared of all other species because "Humans were created in gods image", she's a futuristic version modern day racist.

Don't remember the cutscene, but I'm fairly sure my Shepard never ordered anyone to shoot Wrex.

Well, maybe it's just from my experiences with the Military (relatives here, down South, and back in the North of Ireland), but xenophobia isn't very common, and in some cases very discouraged. I understand her point of view may be different, but based on my experiences, soldiers are more open-minded and compassionate than they have ever been.

Plus, Garrus represents the race that helped contribute to the construction of the Normandy, and she's just as much of a ***** to him (her?).

And she didn't shoot him then and there, she let them talk for a while (she back-shot Wrex, meaning she must have been behind him the whole time), so she didn't act on soldier's instinct. She thought "His back's turned and they're arguing, good enough time to shoot the dinosaur.".

Ten dollars says something like "Dinosaur" is a slur against Krogans in the Mass Effect universe.

Oh, and I'm not arguing, just in case that post seemed like it had some venom.

Are you referring to the conversation that she used the bear and dog analogy? Yeah, that was referring to the alien governments, which is basically the same thing we do today with other nations.

I think the attitude toward Turians is pretty much solely because of the short war between Turians and humans, in which her grandfather became the only human to surrender a planet to aliens, old grudges die hard. As for the shooting Wrex, every time I got to that part where she shot him he had pulled a gun on Shepard, which is pretty much the go ahead to shoot the guy, especially since he isn't even officially with them since he is a mercenary, and she wasn't the only one standing behind him, if I remember correctly Kaiden and a few of the Salarians were watching too, I may be wrong though.

Hell, you know what, this is probably something that makes Mass Effect great, that we can sit here and dissect characters and so many opposing view points, now that is the mark of a good story!
