Favourite-

Gen- I guess 4 maybe (had the right amount of Pokemons).

Game- Gold and Silver. I was blown away with the night and day and special day event and aswell being able to go back to Kanto after beating the game.

Team- Probably my team from Ruby (Swampert, Arrgon, Gardivour, Ninjask, Pelipper and Mightyena). I think that team was well balance despite some flaws (only the first three were the most useful).

Monster- If you mean type then Psychic is my favourite type due to it being superior in special attack. If you mean a specific Pokemon then I guess it would be Garchomp due to it being OP.

Well, I preffer Gen 1 because I spent so much time and energy on working towards buying a GBC and Red version back when I was little (and a week after I got them they announced Gold and Silver, as you can imagine I was kinda pissed) As for my favorite Pokemon, I really liked Noctowl.

As I had learned more about Pokemon by the time G/S came out, I was able to build a more solid team than I had in Red (In red instead of a team I just supercharged my Blastoise and everyone else suffered.

So my favorite team was my gold team of: Typhlosion, Noctowl, Steelix, Dragonite, Magnaton, and Alakazam

Favorite Pokemon: Chandelure. 438 Special attack, awesome typing, badass design and kick-ass movepool? FUCK YES. If I can't get one on my team, I GET ONE ON MY TEAM ANYWAY BECAUSE FUCK YOU, THAT'S WHY.

Favorite Game: Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. There's only a limited amount of pokemon in it, but damn if it isn't fun. Plus the purification method is pretty neat, though it can be a bit time consuming if you left 9 pokemon to purify at once...

Favorite Generation: That's a hard one. It's either 3 (I really love the gen 3 world and pokemon designs; plus, as the last of the 'traditional 2D' games they were pretty fuckin' polished mechanically) or Gen 5 (World, story and pokemon designs are all pretty badass - hell, the fact that there is a story that isn't 'Lol, these villains bro, these villains' is awesome in general).

Favorite Team:
Competitive: Ninjask, Chandelure, Scizor, Garchomp, Whimsicott, Ninetales. Open with Ninjask, Protect/Sword dance before baton passing out to either Scizor, Garchomp or Chandelure and blow them up with +2 physical attacks or +2 speed Chandelure. Drought Ninetales works to clear weather and boost Chandelure (only if Stealth Rocks isn't up) and Whimsicott works as a fucking amazing harassment that cripples any tanks the attackers don't get with priority toxic and taunt. Relies quite heavily on proper prediction, but man do I love this team (even though I've stopped competitive battling). ]

Story Mode: Chandelure, Braviary, Cofagrigus, Garchomp, Swampert, Roserade. Nice, powerful team that has a good elemental coverage.
Chandelure is alot of things, but having good typing isn't one of them. x2 weak to rock, ground, ghost, water, dark. Its immune to fighting type attacks, all fighting types out speed it for the most part and kill it with either rock slide or stone edge.

Teams vary with games of course but my favorite gen by far is GSC, in which I will always have Typhlosion, Furret (shut up), Pidgeot, and Umbreon. Also the only time I'll ever stick with the starting normal Pokemon for so long.

BW is a close second, with my lineup being mainly Samurott, Lilligant, Darmanitan, and Reuniclus but I also kept Chandelure, Archeops, Scolipede, Leavanny, Gigalith, Unfezant, Haxorus, and Zekrom in regular rotation rather than just sticking with one main team as I am prone to do in other games.

I'll defend the first gen, but I don't think they started running out of ideas until after the 3rd.
I think the 3rd is also my favorite--it has Aargon and Blaziken, what else do you need.
The GUI and end-game in Emerald are the best I've seen.

I like Gen 5, though I'm awfully curious as to what Gen 6 and the new Fairy type will bring.

Current all Gen 5 story team:

Volcarona
Chandelure
Lapras
Haxorus
Lucario
Excadrill

I have two theme teams, as well. My Steel team:

Bisharp
Empoleon
Bastiodon
Lucario
Scizor
Metagross

And my Dragon team:

Kingdra
Garchomp
Haxorus
Hydreigon
Salamence
Dragonite

Generation 2: Had enough Pokemon for it to seem a lot, but it still felt like each had a different purpose.
Pokemon Crystal: Extra content + animations.
Team: Gengar, Gyarados, Venosaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Alakazam - Well rounded and has my favorites.
Favorite: Gengar. I like ghost-type pokemon and Gengar can be taught some of the best attacks and become very powerful.

Gen 3, FireRed, and Arcanine are my favorites. It's been a while, but I think my team was:
Arcanine, Blastoise, Raichu, Primate, Exeggcutor, and something else that I can't remember. 3 of those I had/captured within the first 2 hours. And I captured about 25 Growlithe before I settled on the perfect one.

Edit: I remember the last one! It was a Haunter! No, wait, a Sandslash! No, a Dragonite! Okay, maybe I don't remember...

Golduck isn't psychic though...
Oops, I forgot. Just a pure water type. Oh well, he has Zen Headbutt, that's kind of cool.
Yeah, he can also learn confusion and psychic so he's clearly a useful Pokemon, it would have made a lot more sense if he was though... He DID evolve from Psyduck and in the anime he's usually known for his psychic attacks rather than his normal attacks.

GenIV HG&SS because I just love Johto.
My favorite Pokemon changed recently to,
Aipom

My team isn't fully made just yet but it pretty much goes as followed;
Ambipom

Jolteon

Politoed

Ursaring

Cofagrigus

Hitmontop?
Still not too sure about the last one...
I just put him to round things off but I don't love him like the others so it doesn't seem fair to be training him.
It makes me feel dirty too, min maxing like that.

first pokemon game I played was gold. If i turned off my game boy the save would get corrupted so i had to play all the way up to red without turning off my gameboy. on my first play through i didn't know how to use the PC either....

Gen 3. Hoenn is my favorite region. Shame they moved to a new gen rather than remaking it. Game... Emerald, probably. I just loved it. Team; that'd be Plasma. They were the only team to surprise me with how they did their plans in BW. It may not sound like much but as someone who has poured thousands of hours into pokemon having them change how the team played really caught me off guard. Pokemon? Easy, Lanturn. So cute. If it's in a game I always leave a spot on my team for it and catch it as soon as possible.

Gen/game/team/monster

My favorite generations are tied between 2 and 4. No exceptions. They both put the best designs and alterations to the traditional pokemon formula.

Game, I spend the most hours in Diamond but I guess right now it's White 2 for it's great story and post-game stuff.

Team,

I have 2 main teams:

My main:

Empoleon
Xatu
Dusknoir
Tyranitar
Swampert
Honchkrow

Scolipede
Mienshao
Weavile
Starmie
Starraptor
Haxorus

My favorite pokemon? The always reliable and awesomely designed Empoleon:

Credit goes to Xous54

I'm tired of people thinking they are out of ideas. If one pokemon represented an entire species, that'd be stupid. Variety = Better use of more species.

I like BUGS!! And ground. And steel. But mostly bug and ground.

Yeah, they're statistically weakest, but they have the coolest designs, to me! Except for that volbeat/illumise crap from Gen 3...Gen 3's probably my favourite gen, otherwise, though.

Some bugs I love:

Pinsir- lovable merciless, deprived asshole pokemon.
Yanmega- Badass design and colour scheme, in the anime he sounds like a friggin' ROBOT.
Scolipede- He's a pun! Centaur-pede! Also dat speed.
Forretress- He's adorable. And helped me win the Johto league by taking hits like a boss. Screw you, Dragonite!
Durant- Rawr!

I'm not big into dark types, because I don't like the angsty designs a lot of the time (I'm looking at you, Absol...), but my favourite dark pokemon is Scrafty. He's-a so goofy!

Good mix, don't you think? We have the badass, the cute, the goofy and the beautiful. If I could have a seventh it'd be Ferligatr. He's my favourite starter...He'd probably replace Ninetales if I didn't want the type diversity.

I'll just leave this here because this guy is awesome, too.

Haunter is great, stats aren't. Darmanitan can punch anything and win. (Train for ATK and SPD, give him Charcoal/whatever ups fire by 20%, and make sure he has Sheer Force and then just use Fire Punch. (STAB lends its power as well))
I usually have an Ampharos on my team if I can.

I like a lot of electric types and water types. Also I'm starting to warm up to Dark types, still not a lot of good attacking moves though.

Gen V is definitely my favorite Gen, with BW2 being my favorite game.
As for my team, it varies, since BW2 offers a lot of variety. I like to have a Bisharp on my team, as well as a Haxorus because they are both bad-ass, and powerful. Smogon says Ampharos isn't very good, but I absolutely love it. It's served as a great bulky electric type, and I used it all the way from lv 5 when I got it at Floccesy Ranch, to Black Tower, and the PWT. Hell, it can 2HKO a lot of unprepared Pokemon if I use charge, and then there's also cotton guard to max out my defense in 2 turns. Also liked having Gliscor on my team, with it's poison heal ability. Used an Arcanine for a while, until a little bit after the Elite 4, then I swapped it out for Volcarona, and I also leveled up a garchomp because why not. Also, another reason I love Gen 5/BW2, the multitude of ways to get your pokemon to high levels, particularly Black Tower, and Audinos. Audinos were pretty much a godsend for me when I was swapping out pretty much all my party members for a bunch of low level Pokemon. Oh, and I also used a Golduck initially, then switched to starmie, and then switched to Slowbro.

Gen II is my favourite game series and Pokemon. The new features in breeding, evolving due to love/respect and time, and not to mention the game lore itself, makes it the best in my opinion.

Anyway, my team is always diverse. I don't tend to go for one type or a theme, but my favourites.

So, my party will usually consist of:

- Starter (typically Meganium as grass type)
- Flying type (Pidgeot, Noctowl, Dragonite)
- Water type (Tentacruel, Lapras, Vaporeon)
- Fire type (Ninetails, Houndoom, Arcanine)
- Psychic type (Espeon, Butterfree, Xatu)
- Favourite/Dark type (Umbreon, Persian, Suicune)

Umbreon is almost always in my party because he's my ultimate favourite. Persian always features in my party because he's my Spirit pokemon. And he has a move that can make money.

The generations, in order of preference: 2, 5, 1, 4, 3
Game: While I love GSC, I'm diggin' Black now that I'm actually playing through it. I have a feeling that this spot may have belonged to HG/SS if I had played that one, though.
Team/Monster: I've never had a standard team or any must-have monsters, but I grew particularly fond of Mismagius in my Gen IV playthrough.

It physically hurts me that squirtle and I aren't real life best friends forever :(

My original Gameboy copy of Red was the only pokemon game where I actually got all of them. Got pretty close in gold (which was actually silver, or something like that?). I think the time investment in obtaining another huge number of them could only work so long for me. Hell, with white/black, I only played it long enough to get my wife all three starters and then I was kinda done with it.
