I never understood why it was so maligned, really. I can only assume it's because it doesn't sound like what most people would expect from Radiohead, so newer fans tend to shun it a bit. Their loss, really, it's a quality album by any standards.ThatJagoGuy said:I'm definitely a Pablo man... despite the flak I always receive for saying so.
Too right! Lyrically, it's up there with the best of them and it's easily accessible. The result is essentially a catchy rock/pop album with dark lyrics. Sinister and awesome!thecaptainof said:I never understood why it was so maligned, really. Oh, it definitely is a good album. The only problem with Pablo Honey is that is a totally different genre than the rest of their work. The differences between, let's say, The Bends and Amnesiac are huge, but it still are albums that attract about the same audience. Pablo Honey is much more straight forward, simpler if you will. That doesn't mean it's bad, but it's just not what most Radiohead fans (note: most Radiohead fans became fans when Pablo Honey was old already) are in to.thecaptainof said:I never understood why it was so maligned, really.
