Straight beef flavor seems to work best for the doctoring I tend to give it.

Of course, it doesn't really resemble ramen soup by the time i'm done.

Is ramen what Americans calls instant noodles?

When it comes to instant noodles thought I quite like this.

Whatever that is. Out of the listed flavors, though, lime shrimp.

For instant ramen, it's this:

(I have to admit, I love snacking on it raw, and I can't be the only one here that does.)

Although this is second:

(I only picked that up initially because of the pun, but it's actually quite good and very filling)

As for actual ramen, I've only had it once, and didn't really enjoy it. The broth was too oily, it had more filler crap than noodles, and if I remember right, the noodles were a bit under-cooked. On top of that, it was expensive.

I kind of like them all, but I guess I prefer Oriental usually. It's a lot more exciting than ye olde beef flavour.

Why is there no vegetable option?

Vegetable ramen is best ramen.

We're talking instant noodles here, right? Well, we would be, wouldn't we. I had a bowl of this stuff earlier:

Mmmmm. Sho tasteh. Beef's the best, but curry's great, when I'm in the mood for something stomach-warming. Chicken is plegh. Which means okay...actually, there isn't a curry option...considering I grew up eating curry noodles (not alone, of course!) I find that strange.

I felt it necessary to include a brand because I find ramen is quite variable depending on who it comes from. Koka is the best I've had in my life, I've had store-brands that have tasted incredibly dull. I've spent a while perfecting this stuff...getting the noodle to soup ratio to a respectable level...

I like top ramen, but it's nothing compared to real, restaurant ramen. My favorite is karamiso ramen, which is just miso ramen but spicy.

I've never eaten Ramen, and I don't plan on ever eating it either... AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!

I beg your pardon? Open up the tunnel, here comes the traaaaaaain! Choo Chooooo!

OT:
Shrimp, it's down right amazing, seems to give me a lot of tang in my taste buds. Mix that with vegetables and egg and its like heaven on Earth.

Shio ramen with lots of corn is good. So is Tonkotsu with copious amounts of pork belly

I'll eat any flavor provided it's not too weird, like, say, the Southwestern flavors of Cup Noodle like Limon or something.

As for real ramen, I prefer the basics - salt, soy sauce, miso, and pork (you know, as opposed to like, spicy, curry, or menudo...). The flavor of soy sauce and miso broths tend to vary drastically by shop, and I've only ever had salt ramen once (it was good though), so pork is the only one that I've consistently liked at every place I've eaten at.

Of those listed.....shrimp is my favorite with pork being a close second. However, my favorite of all time was California Vegetable. It hasn't been made in many many years. I tend to avoid the shrimp one these days as I once looked at the sodium content of it. That thing is pretty much nothing but sodium and shrimp. That definitely explains why it's so damn tasty.
