I absolutely love the Mistborn series of books. In them there are 3 types of magic which characters can use based on metals.
Allomancy: Some Humans can injest and 'burn' metals inside themselves for particular powers. Each metal that has a power has an opposite power from a correctly mixed alloy of that metal. For instance Iron gives the power to 'pull' on nearby metal objects. You could use it to pull a pen to you by it's nib. Or if the objest is heavier than you, like a bronze statue, you could use iron to pull yourself towards it. The alloy of iron, Steel, allows objects to be pushed from you/you to push yourself from objects.
Another instance is Zinc and Brass. Zink allows a user to 'riot' others emotions in a local area. They can use it to make people more angry, or to feel more love towards something. This influence is usually done subtly to avoid the person noticing the erratic change. Brass, on the other hand, soothes emotions. You can make people feel less anxious, or less angry. Or you could isolate a particular emotion. If there is a angry crowd who are also upset, tired and hungry you could reduce the feeling of hunger and tiredness (the mind side, not the physical) and the upset and just leave the anger. Then a zinc burner could increase the level of ambition in the crowd, inciting a riot or rampage.
Most people in the world can't use the powers. Some can use the power of a single metal or a single alloy. Very few are called Mistborn. They can use all of them.
Metals burn at different rates, and skilled users can alter how much they are burning to vary the effects. Bronze/Steel for instance burn quickly, and is used mostly when you need it. Zinc/Brass on the other hand is subtle and takes a long time to burn. There isn't much worry about running out when you need it.
Feruchemy: Some of the Terris race (tall, peaceful, scholar like people) can use this. By having physical contact with a metal object they can store and call upon stored elements. Copper will allow someone to store and access memories in perfect detail. Pewter allows the storing of strength. Gold allows people to store wellbeing and recovery. And a fictional 'god' metal Atium can be used to store age. (And more of course) The downside to these is that when storing you have to give up some of what you have already. If storing age to be youthfull you have to spend time physically older as you fill. 10 minutes of storing a 50 year age gap older will give you 10 minutes of being 50 years younger. Storing recovery makes you ill for a set time, strength makes you weak etc.
Hemalurgy: This is the final type of metal magic. I won't say anything about it, you will have to read the books and discover it with the characters.
These magic systems are awesome, they have limiting factors and mana type levels which I like, but to actually answer the OP the ones I really wished I had was the Bronze/Steel. I guess you could call it a version of telpathy, so mixed with psychic and mental, but I like how it is restricted to only metal.
