Fantastic band, there really is NOTHING like them out there right now.

I love ska (its like punk with brass) because its upbeat and I use to play the trumpet
Oh dear. Ska has been around far longer than punk, only the shitty third wave bands and a few (admitedly awesome) second wave bands are influenced by punk.

Anyway, I'm not voting in the poll because it is a silly poll! No mention of anything electronic (pop and rap not counting). WTF?!?!

I'm a fan of rock but mostly Japanese rock or JRock. L'Arc-en-Ciel and FLOW are a couple of solid bands but my favorites are Nightmare (anyone who's watched Death Note should know them), Maximum the Hormone (Death Note, 2nd season), and Monkey Majik, a half-Japanese/half-Canadian band living in Japan.

Would anyone like me to change parody (parody chosen cuz i couldn't think of anything else other than other) to metal?

I'm Mostly a fan of Grunge (which is very close to my heart, Seattle scene ftw!), Electro (which could be anything from House to Hardcore), Alternative/Progressive Rock, and Drum and Bass (which I'm getting more into. Jungle is frikken awesome). Yeah, diversity is my aim, when it comes to my music.

Dubstep is okay, but I'll have to be in the mood for it, the same with Indie, Punk and Metal.

Not a huge fan of Rap, but I like some tunes.

R&B, Pop, Country, Grind/Death/Doom/Black/Drone Metal, Jazz and Classical can suck it in my personal opinion.

Its hard to say...I all like all kinds and it depends on my mood

My all time favourite? Electro Rock. I like electronic music and rock but when those dance beats and tekno synthesizer get a good dose of heavy guitar riffing it just rocks my socks off. Hell even electronic music that uses guitar samples will often do the trick.

I voted alternative, assuming it meant indie/alternative rock stuff. Let's look at my collection...

The Beatles (rock)

Coldplay (indie... very)

Faunts (synthrock... guess that fits under alternative)

Madness (Ska, lol)

Halo soundtrack (soundtrack)

Muse (alt-rock)

Pink Floyd (progressive/art rock)

R.E.M (indie/alternative)

Radiohead (alternative... very)

Sparklehorse (...I'll get back to you on that)

U2 (Arena)

Vangelis (electronic/new age)

Warpaint (indie/art rock)

Yes (progressive rock... very)

Yep, my suspicions were correct. Indie/alternative mostly, but not exclusively. Just don't come near me with any rap music...

Well this is difficult.

Its probably a tie between Rock and Electronica (Including other types of electronic music).

And by rock, not classical rock. I like prog rock (Pink Floyd) and then stuff like Muse, QOTSA, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Wolfmother... that sort of thing. Whilst my electronic music tastes would involve things like Justice, Aphex Twin, Radiohead (They're included in Rock too), Plaid, Boards of Canada and The Prodigy.

Wait, your a Warpaint fan!?

You have my upmost respect. Seen them twice, and I have a autograph from all of the girls, which is one of my prized possessions.

I only discovered them recently at Reading fest. They were good enough live that I decided to get their debut album (and later their EP). It was awesome. Can't wait for their next effort...

I just love that band way too fucking much, even to the point of rabid fanboyism.

I always mention them on here in nearly every music topic.

Nothing wrong with that. I love their bass tones, so distinctive.

Also, can you please tell me who the lead singer is? I recall seeing both Theresa and Emily singing in apparent lead roles at the fest, so do they share it equally (like Gilmour and Waters of Pink Floyd used to do)?

I tried finding this out via google. Didn't work (though I did find a picture of Jenny naked).

Emily is the main singer, but Theresa does a few vocals, though she does sing most of the song "Beetles" herself.

Also a fan of Irish rock, like Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy, and the Pogues.
A fan of Irish rock? Where's the love for Thin Lizzy?

I'd probably say metal, most of all. I couldn't really pick out a favourite subgenre, but so long as it's not death/black/folk metal I'll probably like it. I'm also a big ska-punk/3rd wave fan, which isn't really a good thing to be in 2011 because there's only a couple of really good ska punk bands still around and still making ska punk and not just crappy pop punk.

In no particular order, my favourite bands are Mastodon, Thin Lizzy, Anthrax, Streetlight Manifesto, Social Distortion and Metallica (obvious, but come on, you can't fuck with the first five albums, and they're still amazing live).

Lately I've been really into stuff like Cancer Bats, Gallows, Turbowolf and Trash Talk. It's a shame that Frank left Gallows, the single they released was crap compared to their old stuff.
