Poll: Favorite Weapon for the Protagonist?

i'm gonna say other, because i really couldn't choose between the lot. it depends what sort of game i'm playing. if i'm playing an fps, i'd want guns but if it was a hack n slash, i'd want a nice katana etc.

Either chainsaw or guns. But what about the Lancer? It's a gun with a chainsaw. Best of two, very bloody worlds. Or why not go with a gun/chainsaw/sword. Sword with chainsaw edges with a side of gun.

It honestly depeneds on the type of hero. Call me picky but I get it from playing games like WoW, TES and D&D. If the character is a certain class or race they should use certain weapons. Take oblivion and morrowind for example (quicker to explain than the others) If you have a nord you're generally going to be some type of heavy combat class but not as heavy combat as say an orc so you'd use a claymore or a light axe or if you were a woodelf you'd use a longbow. Also anything HUGE (which I get from playing JRPGs).

Hard to say. I'm a big fan of polearms, in general. However, having a main protagonist with fist weapons (cesti, katar, brass knuckles, catclaws, etc.) is something I haven't seen before (not counting Dante's Beowulf weapon), so that would be pretty cool. Especially if the main character is a magic user, in which case small personal weapons of the sort indicate well-roundedness as well as awesomeness.

Then again, maybe I'm still just pissed off that mages in WoW can't use fist weapons. I'll go with polearms/staves.

Anyway, I voted 'other' as I would use a Pistol or Assault Rifle. I see my characters as neutral observers than the Best hope or scourge of Humanity.
