There is no such thing as an American or British accent, only types of them.

Also, Russian.

I actually realized when looking at this thread that I love accents in general. Though I'm not too fond of heavy French accents. And I really, really, really, dislike the "American" accents. Probably because I hear them a lot in movies and whatnot and I'm Canadian so it's rally easy for people to confuse me with someone from the U.S if I'm travelling... but regardless, American accent != enjoyable.

Out of the accents listed I'd go with Australian.

Yes correct there is no one type of American or British accent and the same goes for the rest I bet, such as French, Japanese, Russian etc, just because we know that American and British accents differ in different areas doesn't mean the same can't apply for the rest. Just because we don't know of them doesn't mean that other countries and languages contain sub accents such as British and American. The poll's options are meant include the sub accents or to use the stereotyped version of each accent as there are only 8 options and a lot of different accents to choose from.

I said Russian for comedy's sake.

Anyway, US, specifically the East Coast, has a lot more distinct accents than many other countries due to the influx of smelly foreigners we've had over the years. And because the South is awesome.

Wait... what kind of British? There are dozens of accents in Britain, some of them incredibly un-sexy...

I'm particularly fond of weird dialects that make little sense, like cockney or the french "verl'ans" where they flip words around.
Also I'm missing the afrikaans option. It sounds like real funky children speaking a blend of dutch and english.
Yes I also like languages -snip
Yeah well That's kinda what I meant. I got some distant relatives there and a general interest in the language. Guessing you're from Holland, you probably heard of Die Antwoord? Silly, but fun...

12 months ago I would have said IRISH!!!! But after I moved to Oregon, and got a wonderful North-west boyfriend, I'd say that that is the most attractive :)

British because that comprises of Scottish, Irish, Welsh and English along with the variation across each of these countries P:
WRONG! I'm sorry but no.

British does NOT include Ireland, can people please stop being so ignorant about it?

Also, there is no "Southern Ireland". It's Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.

Fuck sake.

OT: Yeah, I quite like the accents we've got in The Republic of Ireland... At least, most of them.
