Poll: Favourite Call of Duty game?

Big Red One, all the way.
I played the first one, and it was a little too hard for me to figure out at the time- I didn't really "get" it, if that conveys my meaning. But by the time Big Red One rolled around, my Dualshock2 was itching for some action, so I bought it and beat it in under 24 hours. It was much more finely tuned, I felt, than the first- and I liked the characters more.

Although I was a tad disappointed at how damn easy the last level was.

WaW was my favourite. Good graphics, nice twist on the usual WW2 story with the Americans in the Pacific instead of France. Also raising the flag at the Reichstag was sweet as well as a nicely balanced multiplayer and big maps which I felt were missing from COD:MW.

The first is still the best. For one thing, the series has gradually moved closer to making the player a badass action hero instead of one brave soldier among many - which was originally the whole point. And the river crossing at Stalingrad practically wins it single-handedly.

United Offensive was awesome too, but I dock it points for introducing infinite-spawning enemy chokepoints, which has plagued the series ever since. COD2 and COD4 tie for third place - 2 was solid but getting a bit stale and 4 was less stale but way too short (I'm really only into SP). Given that MW2 is apparently just as short, I'm not buying it until I can get it for at least half its current price.

Sadl the same, although thats not to say i haven't played the other, not all but some. I still like CoD(1) for its being the first kick-ass Nazi killer, besides Wolfenstein

Modern Warfare 2 the story was really amazing... Game play is just as good...

CoD1, UO and CoD2 played to death. CoD4 was good but I hate most of the perks. So yeah between those 3. MW2 was disappointing after the hype.

I voted CoD4. That's only because I have yet to play MW2. I'm sure it will replace MW1 but until then, MW1 holds the title.
