Poll: Favourite Comic Book Publisher

Knowing that a lot of us here read comics (See Movie Bob), I'm a little curious to see which comic book publisher is more popular on this site. I'm not trying to incite fanboy rage or say one company sucks, I just want to know preferences.

I'll start: I'm a big IDW fan. In particular, I like the Ghostbusters series they picked up a couple years ago.

I voted Dark Horse entirely because very little of what they put out is super hero comics, and a lot of what they put out is Star Wars. When it comes to superheroes, I don't have a strong preference for either Marvel or DC; they're both good. I don't think I've ever read anything by IDW, and I was unaware they had anything but GI Joe and Transformers until the OP mentioned their Ghostbusters series.

For me its split between Marvel and DC. DC's Vertigo line as put out some fantastic stuff, but the only other comics I like of theirs is Batman and then its more just the limited series/separate story arcs like Long Halloween and Hush. On the other hand, I love a large amount of Marvels superhero line up finding them to be a lot more enjoyable then DC's, but the more entertaining characterization I find often comes at the expense of the overall plots.

Marvel. Other than Batman and a couple others I don't really like DC, and I haven't read enough of the others to have an opinion. I've liked the Dark Horse stuff I have read though.

I tend to buy mostly DC but I gave my vote to Dark Horse because they give me Berserk!

I'm a big Dark Horse fan. They do good work with Conan and the Berserk translations.

I chose Dark Horse, purely for Empowered. I don't read many comics these days, mostly indie published titles like Irredeemable and The Boys.

I haven't read Marvel on a regular basis since the early 80s, when they had some awesome titles like X-Men (Claremont/Byrne), Daredevil (Miller, before he went insane) and Iron Man (Michelinie/Layton.) I did keep up with the Hulk for a while when Peter David was writing it, but other than that Marvel seems to spend its time wallowing in continuity I can't even try to keep up with.

I've liked DC more in the recent past, but their retcon of Justice League International (Max Lord is evil and always was - wtf?) and the dreadful reboot last year has really soured me on DC. Maybe I'll look at them again if they put a writer on Catwoman who writes with a pen and not his dick.

I've always kind of liked Marvel more. I love anything to do with X-men really.
Batman's cool but I'm not thrilled about DC turning all their female characters plastic.

Though its been ages since I actually read any comics. There's not really a place to get them around here.

DC got to be my favorite publisher the only reason is because they own Batman and the RIddler

I voted DC. DC includes Vertigo (Sandman, Preacher etc) and Wildstorm (Authority, Planetary) as well as some awesome current books out. Looking at you, Swamp Thing and Animal Man!
