Seeing as the old chunky Game Boy isn't there, has to be the GBC. Super Mario Land, wonderful.

I believe the reason is called "nostalgia". You know that little depraved feeling, that will wipe its...nose with things like technical superiority. New(er) doesn´t always equal better.

My pick would also be the original GameBoy, since that´s the only handheld console I have actually owned. I´m not very much into handheld consoles.

EDIT: Although, NDS does come with a quite impressing spectrum of games, so that would be my potentially favourite handheld console.

Though I really liked the Gameboy, the DS is perfection. Great games no matter what you want, because that's all a handheld is about. Gaming.

I agree. Because of games like Scribblenauts, Mario&Luigi games, The World Ends With You, Phoenix Wright series, Professor Layton series, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, GTA: Chinatown Wars etc, I love the DS far more. It has so many and so good games.

Sega Game Gear, because it was the only hand held I've ever owned (and my first console) and it was awesome.

It kept me amused for countless hours on long summer sailing trips, miles away from land. It had some truly great games, like Crystal Warriors, Defenders of Oasis, Shinobi, Popils (and that's not just nostalgia, I still play those games now with an emulator and they're still good, if a little dated).

It could play Master System games or be used as a colour television with the right accessories, it truly was a portable powerhouse for it's time, and served me well in it's primary function... providing portable entertainment when miles away from any computer or civilisation.

Yeah, I really don´t have much with which to compare. If I had owned, in some alternate reality, a newer console, say for example NDS or PSP, I probably would think differently, but that´s just iffing.

I own both the NDS and PSP nd i lost interest in the psp too much to keep t running i prefer my ds much quicker games and it has pokemon and mario plus i haves the flash cart so i dotn have to carry a big bag full of the cartridges around

Either the DS or the GBA SP, since between them I can play any Game Boy game I want, and the Nintendo handhelds have been my most played consoles I've ever owned.

The DS is a great hand held. It's library is spectacular, the system fits well in my hands, the touchpad is used well in many titles, and (at least with the DSi) they are beginning to use digital distribution, which I can get behind.

I don't like hand held consoles. I play ordinary consoles at home, and prefer to take my MP3 player on journeys and to boring places.
But the Game boy color and pokemon yellow, gold and crystal did take up alot of my childhood, and I loved it, so I'll go with that.
