Death/power/black metal and most of the strange hybrids of the three.
Always seemed like white noise to me. No offense meant.

I voted blues. Who was the other one who voted that?

Heavier rock, milder metal. I voted rock mainly cause I'm a sap for a good ballad.

I would say that Rock encompases so many different styles under its hat, Alternative would be the genre I love the most. The intellegent/story telling lyrics of bands like Staind, Ministry, Tool, PoM, Korn, Incubus and Perfect Circle.

Have to acknowledge the old school bands as well, Rush, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Dokken, Iron Maiden, Slayer and Pantera.

Eminem also stands alone in a genre of music I just never had much interest in as well.

None taken, it's hard for a lot of people to pick out the technical genius that lurks within all that chaos. And of course there are those terrible bands that ARE nothing but white noise. (cough, Cannibal Corpse, cough...)

Everything, but mostly rock. However recently, I started listening to disco, country, etc as well.

Metal/Rock/Screamo/Drum&&Bass.
I put metal because it's my favourite out of the lot.

Mostly Rock. Sometimes Hip-Hop (but rarely, usually I skip those songs when listening to MP3/Winamp), I do like Metal (Black Sabbath and Kopriklaani xd), Punk and Gothic (okay, from this one only Voltaire).

Oh, and orchestral music. I could listen to Diablo 2 soundtrack (so many instruments...) for hours.

I understand that they're technically very skilled but, my question is...why hide all the technical skill behind all the noise?

Classic rock isn't there so I clicked rock.

But then again we cant pick multiple genres. I pretty much like all music with the exception of country and some screamo. Death metal is too weird too. NINTENDOCORE fTW

Your poll does not cater to my tastes, I'm afraid I shall have to take my business elsewhere.

Well, music is technically noise. =P
Seriously though, it comes down to how you listen to your music. When you hear this
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2W7h3a0iMw) do you hear musical skill or random thrashing? Where one may see nothing but racket, another may find a beauty that other genre's cant compare to. (Skip to about 2:11 and tell me that solo isnt awesome.)

Country, but that's not an option. Those options are too general, so I will vote Rock, for Classic Rock.

Ska, then punk, then metal. I vote rock because it's the most all-inclusive here, and I myself always think of metal as a subgenre of rock. Under those 3 genres, I like really everything. Progressive, trash, hardcore, you name it.
