Poll: Favourite Pokemon Game

The question's pretty basic, what pokemon game do you like the best and why? And who was your favourite pokemon to start with/be?

My favourite has to be Crystal, and I usually started off with Cyndaquil. It had awesome music, colour and this generation kicked off the day/night system.In my opinion, the best parts were that you could pick a girl character and after beating the Elite Four you could go to Kanto. I loved being able to go to two regions.

My heart belongs to Pokémon Red, the game that took up countless hours of my childhood.
I loved that game, and it broke my heart when it was stolen from me...

Red, and starting with a Charmander. No other Pokemon game will interest me as much as that one.

I love it mainly for the nostalgia, really. It's one of the first games I really got hooked on, and will always remain as one of my favorite games. ^^

People are going to vote retro on this. I guarantee it...but i still like mah Diamond ^_^. I'm pretty sure i never pumped 90+ hours into Gen 1 or 2, So I'll just let my hours speak for themselves (cuz there sure as hell isn't anything else that could speak for it! The game hasn't really changed since Gen 1 >_<. [no i do not mean competitively {nested brackets...greeeat...}]).

R/B/Y, simply because of nostalgia. Actual gameplay-wise, I rather enjoy Platinum the most.
Though I love all of the main Pokemon series.

OTrobably Platinum, it was the first one i had a good amount of time with and i love a lot of the Pokemon.

One of my favourite pokemon game would be the colosseum/XD mostly because it was the first game to have a real story and not just catching pokemon and beating gym leaders (and there is nothing wrong with that). I also liked how all the characters were developed even if they were only in it for one scene.

Another favourite would be the Pokemon Ranger series. Yeah I know its just spinning a circle for a long time. However it has unqiue game play and the story makes sense. The charaters are a joy to see. Aswell as it is trying somthing new. When I first got the ranger games I sat down and played on them until I won because it was that good at pulling me in.

Gold/Silver, all the new content it added, like the day/night system, pokemon friendship, the radio, the bug catching contest, and the fact that it had two regions was amazing. I like heartgold but around the time I hit the steel gym, I couldn't find enough trainers to train my pokemon to the proper level to fight any gym trainers afterwards and I got stuck before the elite four. I don't remember this problem in the originals, so I like them more ^_^

OT: As much as I'd like to say the old is best, I have to admit, HeartGold was my favorite. I don't play because of the new pokemon, I play because I enjoy the graphics and the extras on it.

Heartgold/Soulsilver. It's a remake of a great game, incorporating the newer mechanics of the franchise. I never liked Red/Blue/Yellow mainly for the fact that Special stats were broken as hell, making the Abra family really OP.

Silver/Gold, and I will couple Heartgold/Soulsilver with them. I currently only can play Soulsilver, but the basis behind the original and what of that is in the remakes is still awesome.

It's a tie between Gold/Silver/Crystal and their remakes.

Fundamentally, the remakes are better because of the added content and better fighting system.

Nostalgically, I have my most favorite memories from the originals. Having the Poke'rus show up... catching a shiny Hoothoot just completely at random before my first badge... My super Typhosion that could solo the Elite Four with a few elixers...

Pokemon Yellow will always be my nostalgic favorite so I voted for it. However, the best generation IMO has been gen 3. Really liked Leafgreen

Soul Silver. I had two people playing it the same time as me, so I was able to do a lot of battle tower/pokeathlon stuff, plus it's the first time in ages I've completed the Pokedex. I really love Johto, and Gen 2 has my favorite legendaries. Nostalgically, the original Silver and Gold were the games I've put the most hours into, and my Gold cartrige has a shitload of level 100's.
