I know there's a certain stigma surrounding shounen anime and manga and for good reason as a typical shounen always has the protagonist as some annoying hyperactice kid who is super powerful, fan service, over the top and ridiculous fights with a bit of deus ex machina put into them and FUCKING DRAGGED OUT FILLER!!!!!. But we can't deny that we still love shounen, especially when it gets good. So I ask my fellow otaku, what would be your favourite shounen, mine would be Fairy Tail, as the story is good, characters are funny and brilliant, plus the fights are epic and I would have Yu Yu Hakusho and Katekyo Hitman Reborn as a close second, so what would yours be?

To me that would be One Piece, I just find it superior compared to other shows like Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail (the other current Shonen shows I've watching well except for Bleach) but fair dues, that series is extremely long compared to those three.
Hey they must be doing something right to still be ongoing (like its art style is unique, it can be comical at times, the setting is always changing and its universe is huge) unlike Bleach who is just barely hanging there.
Also to me second place would be Fairy Tail.

I'd say Fullmetal Alchemist. Both series.
They're light on filler for the most part, they've got a great concept/story to them, the characters are likeable and compelling, and the animation is fantastic.
I also like Gurren Lagann, and what I've watched of Soul Eater, but overall, FMA is my big favorite.
Edit: Shaman King, too. Great series.

After watching one too many episodes of Naruto, I rather gave up on shounen anime...
Only decent one I've seen in... well, fuck knows... is FMA.

OT: Well, as someone who has an incredibly small exposure to anime in general, I'd have to probably go with Dragonball Z as well, considering my only other choice is... er... Yu-Gi-Oh! because I'm pretty sure Digimon and Pokemon don't count. I've never read, watched, or otherwise been exposed to any of the other series' mentioned in the poll.
While Naruto is the one I've invested the most time and energy into, I'll be different and say Fist of the North Star. It's the grandaddy of Shounen battle manga and plays out more or less like a series of Chuck Norris jokes (Kenshiro once punched a tank until it exploded, etc.)

Dragonball Z is a close second, get rid of the episodes of powering up and it'll be higher. The only other Shounen I've seen is FMA: Brotherhood. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

It's Kind of a toss up between FMA and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2. Both are great in the stories fighting and art. The former takes it's self a little more seriously and the latter is more enjoyably over the top while still maintaining tension.
Edit: Apparently Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge is considered Shonen so I'll let the above two fight out 2nd and 3rd and let this sit atop my favorite spot as it is great,nuff said.

Yeah, the only thing I ever minded about DBZ was that whenever it came to a 'powering up!' episode, I'd always have to wait extra long until I got to see how the story continued. Naruto, for instance, is best watched on and off. Leave for the obnoxious filler, return when the good stuff happens. In One Piece the filler is hilarious so I don't have to leave.
One Piece, by far. Though I've also a soft-spot for some ridiculously manly series from the eighties.
