I saw X Men First Class today (fricking amazing btw) and I thought about superhero films. So what's your favourite series? I would probably say X Men because there are loads of different mutants.

The Nolan Batman films pretty much take the cake for me.

I did see Thor though the other day, and I thought it was pretty good - it stood out more to me then the abundance of superhero movies that keep coming out. The Asgard scenery was fantastic.

I really enjoyed the first Iron Man movie. It might not have the most awe-inspiring action scenes, but I appreciated the effort that went into genuine character development.

However, I think I may have to go with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm for my all-time favorite. The animation is outstanding, and it really delves into the personal demons Bruce Wayne struggles with:
Plus it has my favorite version of the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill.
My only major complaint is that there's no Harley Quinn...

I'd love to be original, but it's hard for me to say anything other than The Dark Knight ^^

My favorite of all time has to be Kick-ass. Just awespme in my opinion.
I second this. Kick-Ass was great, my jaw is still open from the handful of hitgirl scenes.

Nolan's Batman series, followed by the Spider-Man movies.

I also liked the X-Men series (Even though X3 was a complete waste of potential).

While Nolans Batman films are good, I'm going to go with MARVEL's Avengers line up, all films in the line up were great and I have high hopes for both Captain America and the Avengers :D

The 1989 Tim Burton Batman is my favorite. Michael Keaton is the best live action Batman, Jack Nicholson is the best live action Joker, and it had Bob.

Fo reals.

this a million times!
Jack is the best live action joker (animated is obviously Mark Hamill) and I love Bob the Goon!
The new Batman movies are just trying too hard, and Christian Bale could compete with Keanu Reeves in the Most Wooden Actor Awards!

Probably the obvious choice, Batman Begins. I watched the Nolan Bataman films before the Burton ones, I thought Nolan's were superior, but that's just me.

Second favorite'd be the Iron Man films, I was never a huge fan of Iron man in the comics, but the films were great, though it's probably largely due to Robert Downey Jr, he's the type of actor I could watch read a phone book for two hours and still be entertained.

Thirdly would be either the Spider-Man series (Yes, even the third one, ESPECIALLY the third one.) or the first two Superman films, simply because of the main characters.

See, if you didn't say "Film Series" i would've voted. My answer is The Dark Knight purely because i loved The Joker. The heroes themselves which the series celebrate i often despise, and Batman isn't spared. Maybe if he was always more like the Arkham Asylum incarnation and took more of a "Not even trying, just kicking ass" approach like early action flicks, i'd be kinder to it; but that stupid fucking growl and the voice like he has a deep-seated hatred towards his own larynx... it just makes me roll my eyes as they try to make a gritty realistic approach to get me to take him seriously. Shouting "WHERE ARE THEY" like you have severe congestion is not going to endear you in my eyes.
