When I say Fish & Chips I mean proper English Fish & Chips, the whole fillet of fish with my chips, the chips that have been cooked and double fried with beef dripping kind of chips...somehow but unsurprisingly California (I can't speak for the rest of America, because I haven't been anywhere else while living in the states), has managed to cock up one of the simplest and best Brit take away foods, by using the healthy option Canola/vegetable oil for frying, and giving small strip sized bits of fish.
At this rate (it's been over two years since I had decent fish and chips from back home) I'll buy my own bloody fillet of Cod or Haddock (or whatever silly name they call it here, probably a flounder) and make my own, just need a decent batter recipe for the fish.
