Poll: Fellow Escapists - What Do You Drink?

So since around March this year I've had the pleasure of partying with some great people and have developed my own taste in alcohol, and I am aware that you don't have to necessarily drink at a party to enjoy yourself, it certainly helps and I have certainly taken advantage of that.

So of course there's beer and while I can drink a few I can't deny that they don't exactly taste the best. After a couple of Fat Yaks or Blue Tongues I move onto Cider such as Strongbow or Rekorderlig which can have just as much alcohol as beer but definitely tastes better. On top of that bourbon and coke goes down nicely (e.g. Woodstock or Black Barrel for a low price) but I always keep a flask of scotch to myself cause it's always good to have something that nobody else can touch, but can also deliver a little kick in between drinks.

So I curious to know what the people of The Escapist drink at parties, or at the local pub, or even at home after a long day.

Vodka. Specifically WKD or any other alcopop like that. The blue one.
I like it because it's sweet and it tastes like a slush-puppy.
I dont like wine or beer or anything like that.

Beer and white wines - reds give me migraines.

For beer, usually a honey or a red, and I try to stick to Canadian makes. I'll have Guinness here and there though.

I will admit I'm not versed in wines at all, so I'll just go with "white". Sometimes I'll go for a fruity/girly drink if I'm in the mood, but even as a girl, I sometimes feel embarrassed ording them. My own problem, I guess. I do like them.

Edit: I forgot Bailey's. Try and keep that at home, but it's too pricey to get often.

Mostly I tend to start out with cider, preferably Kopparberg (even better if it's the mixed fruit kind), though Magners is good too. If I get past three (yes, I am a serious lightweight), I tend to start drinking whatever gets put in front of me. Beers, spirits, some pretty weird shots... But, yeah, on the whole I prefer a good cider.

I drink Liqueur, spirits, alcopops, whire and Rose wine, cider and mixes.

Beer is yucky.

Baileys is my favourite <3 I also accept the cheap alternatives.

Vodka, or a good ol' Gin & Tonic. I've also got a bit of a sweetspot for sweet, creamy liqueurs. Nom...

White Russian is another favorite of mine. It plays nice and goes down, like Vodka.

Scotch... straight or with coke... but really being a 'certain age' I'll drink anything I can get.

My old standby is a simple rum and coke. I also enjoy wine, especially reds, though I know very little about it.

Beer is something I drink here and there, and it's easily one of the most refreshing drinks on a hot day, but I'm far from a fan of it. My friends make fun of me as I prefer things like the new Coors Light ice tea beer to just straight up "normal" beer.

I love beer, of all kinds and all levels of quality. I prefer IPAs though, and drink microbrews whenever they're available.

Occasionally I'll take hard liquor straight for a few shots, but I'm not hardcore enough to do it consistently. I usually mix rum or vodka with some flavor of soda or fruit juice.

Though I am quite partial to a good Jack and Coke.

I don't drink alcohol, since I'm underage and I don't like the stuff (thus being a huge disappointment to my German-Irish family). So, to make up for the lack of alcohol in my life, I drink a lot of soda.

And now I'll demonstrate how much of a wuss I am:

I like drinking wines... dry whites, clarets etc. but not too much of a fan of roses.

And for a regular tipple, a VS Courvoisier is very good to have, though sometimes, nothing beats a VSOP Napoleon... kirschwasser is... interesting and armagnac is divine... *drools in a civilised manner* *monocle falls from eye*

1. Guinness, Shiner Bock, or Coopers Pale.

2. Bombay Sapphire straight (preferred), or Tanqueray with tonic.

3. Whatever good bourbon or whiskey available, or mediocre to bad stuff with Coke.

I answered spirits, because I honestly prefer drinking straight liquor as long as it is gin, rum, tequila, or some sort of whiskey.

i drink magners and strongbow and occasionally if i feel like it i'll drink a vodka mixed drink, like vodka and cranberry or vodka and red bull.

Usually rye whiskey, though lately its been rum or vodka as I like them as "summer" drinks. They mix better with juices and cold stuff, whereas I prefer to have the whiskey on its own.
