I offer asylum to anyone who wants it. I remain neutral.
Mind if I join you?
By all means. We have room for hundreds.

You're looking at what wasn't, not what could be.
We must always work towards sculpting a glorious future, or else we deserve the wasteland we created by our apathy!
I like the old guys and would be glad to see them again, but neutrality suits me fine, besides it's not like I know where to find them, and if they don't want to come back I don't want to be the one to bother them, after all they probably have no idea who I am.

We have all the neccesities of life:

Pizza, games, books, games, beer, games, cushions, games, action figures, games, card games, games and of course a washroom.

[sub][sub]We also have candy.[/sub][/sub]
Then it shall be enough, I'll bring whatever I can, but since I have to get through the desert there probably won't be any drinks left.
[sub]Great! I shall bring uh... I've got nothing, unless you want Mexican food.
[sub]Which may not be a good idea if there is just 1 washroom.

Crap, was never really that close any Escapist user, let alone any of the older ones. Also, I'm not one to send random messages to people, since I have very low self-esteem when it comes to strangers online or off.

But it's great to see some of the old Escapists members here again, especially Aylaine.

In a couple of days it's gonna be three years since I joined up, although, I have been around since around 2007 under a different user, so technically it's five. I wasn't banned, mind you, I just wanted to start fresh since I didn't get home internet connection until 2009 (Before I was using my school computer, so I barely ever posted.)

I have long been a bystander of the many conflicts to befall the Escapist over the years. I'm still here, though I'm not a very significant figure. Hoorah, I suppose. Hah, for once I feel like I'm involved. Someone take a picture.

Oh God. So many old people...

As for the cause... Screw that. Sounds like too much work. :p

I doubt any of the people who I thought made this place fun would be remotely interested in coming back. There are still some cool people on the boards, and when they leave I'll probably leave too. A new era will begin and people who joined in 2010 will be considered oldies. It's not a bad thing. It's just natural progression.

Oh my God Aylaine's back!

This really is a gathering of the Old Guard isn't it?

I remember the end of the glory days. With Furburt and Max and Avykins. By the way, what was Avykins avatar? That thing drove me crazy for years trying to figure it out.

I have no idea who you are or why I should care! My join date is somewhat misleading since I lurked for a long time prior to posting.

Hi Souplex. I can't help, even though I'm a 2010 joiner, and previous lurker.

No one will remember me, as my talent is ze lurks... unless they recognise the avatar, of course. But a push for some more interesting threads would not go amiss, I think. Whatever happened to Daystar's reviews?

Huh, I thought I already posted in this thread. Guess not. Boo...

I think I count as an old user, if not I'm going to pretend I do anyway.

Also, the Zynga March Mayhem was my favourite event on The Escapist of all time, ever. All subsequent March Mayhems have brought nothing but disappointment.

There are people who joined in 2011 who carry the OldScapist spirit.
It's one of those nebulous ill-defined things like patriotism; some people will say it's what you feel, others will say it's how you act, others still will provide their own wacky definitions.
was 2011 a particually notable year?

EDIT: I'm noticing alot of 2009 users all of a sudden 0_0..I feela bit left out..its a special club you can't pay your way into

I can;t imagine lurking on a forum..I'd feel to frustrated in not being able to argue with people

anyway, the only other "old" user I can remember is Simulord who was a around when I first joined..then left...and comments on cracked occasionally

I'd love to see some of the older posters back, I used to love stalking them watching their antics through high-powered binoculars.

Now we just need to find someone whose name rhymes with Kane so we can substitute in this video. [sub][sub][sub]Aylaine would have worked maybe but she already posted.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Captcha: Stranger Danger. Hmm not sure if captcha supports the idea or if it's warning against bring old people back.

I guess I'm a really Oldscapist. 5 years come December.

I remember some cool things. At least 3 major site redesigns, the introduction of Badges, and the growth of this site into the massive community it is today. When I joined there were only a couple thousand posts (I think around 3k) in the forums IN TOTAL. Now there are, literally, millions.

Despite coming here multiple times a day every day of each of those 5 years I've never been a massive poster. I'm more of an observer. Ancient and timeless.

So I shall not join your revolution. I shall do as I always do. Watch as the world burns.

You mean when we sat in the Irish Brigade as if it was a fallout shelter?
