Did the boy or his parents report her?
Did the boy want to report her at all?

That makes all the difference in the world to me.
Another article said it was a complaint from a family member.

I really doubt anyone here would question the baby-sitter to go to jail if it was the other way around. A 20 year old boy having sex with a 14 year old girl while baby-sitting her. Yea, jail for life! That is what people would be screaming. In both cases I highly doubt the younger of the two are really against doing the act at 14 =P. Though in this case she is not showing self control and maturity of a 20 year old. Plus breaking the law of course. Teach her a lesson.

Three questions:

Why did he need a babysitter? He's fourteen. I had major issues with being alone (read: paralyzed in a corner while crying) and even I got over them when I was ten.

Isn't it worth jail time to get an underaged person drunk, let alone sexually assaulting them?

Why the double standard? If this was a twenty-year-old guy and a drunk fourteen year old girl, this would be "Despicable Story of the Day". And yet there are people saying "Meh, she's hot".

Providing Alcohol to a minor.
Drugging a minor.
Forced sexual congress with a drugged minor.
Dereliction of duty.

Twenty years.

Anything else is admitting that we have one rule for one and one for another.

The main reason I don't take this seriously though, and I really don't want to admit it; is that she's an attractive young female as opposed to the stereotypical sex offender.
Stop right there. Everyone has differing opinions on what they find attractive so this boy might not have found her attractive. And even if he did he still gets to refuse to have sex with her and she has to respect that.

I honestly don't know whether to have contempt for this girl, or to make a stupid joke about the kid being a hero. What do you guys think?
I honestly don't know. Not because it's female on male but because I have no idea where the age of consent/adulthood should be.

Oh wait she got him drunk?

That's different.

Not sure what the punishment should be but we shouldn't let her off easy because she's an attractive woman and the victim's a man.

Well...
Did she get him drunk or did they drink together?
That's a very good point.

That's one bad kid. He's so hardcore, his parents can't leave him home alone. And even then, he ends up boozing up and banging his baby sitter.

PS: That's probably not how it went down, but can you imagine if it was? Damn.

I think rehab/tons of comunty servic should be sufficent, besides she already has to deal with the embaressment of having this article online for the whole world to read
I agree. You do not want to be a registered sex offender. Not only does that screw you over (which I don't mind), but it screws over anyone in your family even some people with your last name who have no relation to you. At that age you are just being a dumbfuck. While that isn't any excuse, she is way too young for a stupid decision screw up the rest of her life. Especially if the boy isn't the one actually pressing the charges.

She is pretty hot... makes me wonder if she just likes younger guys, or if she was really desperate.

Lucky guy, I guess? Unless he regrets it, in which case it's just as bad as if a young girl would regret it (it would be lucky for her getting laid if she was pleased, I suppose).

I think that we're fairly prudish as a nation. People at fourteen are already having sex, knowing about sex, wanting sex (I've overheard this from young people in our community, it's kind of crazy these days). I don't really think we should drop the age limit quite that far, but this is the sort of thing that makes you question certain laws.

If she drugged him or gave him alcohol, that's a double whack against her. She's probably getting jail time for this, no question about it.

Go directly to jail[footnote]After the trial, of course[/footnote]. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Bonus of sex offender registry from community chest.

This is what a fourteen year old boy looks like (Not the one from this case, from another):

Do you honestly think 20 year olds of any sex should be fucking that?
Agreed.

At 14 I'd have tried to sleep with her, but that's why there's a law, 14 year olds are stupid/naive.

I don't care how attractive she is, she shouldn't have slept with him. If it'd been his girlfriend who was one year older than him and they were on either side of the legal age of consent, it'd be a different story.

You can't be allowing people to sleep with minors. Regardless of gender.

What if the kid is actually a homosexual, would this change your opinion of the case?

What if he were straight and it'd been a man?

What if it'd been a priest?

You can't just allow people to abuse children because you think the child wanted it. It's not a case by case basis of how hot they are.

Look at it like this.

What if it was a 20 year old male babysitter who got a 14 year old girl drunk and slept with her?

That's right people would be screaming for blood.

But seriously why is this even up for debate?

Providing alcohol to a minor
Sexual assault
Sexual assault of a minor
This post should end all discussion.

This.

The sheer amount of hypocrisy in this thread astounds me.

No one's put this here yet and frankly, with the girl looking like that it belongs here.

Other than that I'm not sure what to think, when I was 14 I'd have given anything to go with a fit 20 year old. To be fair I still would but I'm sure what's happened is really bad and...stuff?

The age of consent here is 16, I remember being in the Library one day at school when I overheard a 6th form girl (17/18) tell a year 9 (13) that she'd give him a blowjob later that day. All I could think then was "lucky bastard" and that's all I can think now.

There are three really important (to me at least) questions here.

1. Did she get him drunk, or did they drink together?

2. Did he or a family member press charges?

3. Did he want to have sex with her?

Without those questions properly answered I cannot form a proper opinion on the matter.

If it turns out that they had a few drinks together, had sex willingly and a parent pressed charges I do believe this woman to be innocent.

... Yeah, I really wanna say "ONYA SON!" to the 14 year old, but it's got my hypocrite nerve spiking.

Fact is she committed a felony. You commit the crime, you get convicted, you go to jail. And if the genders had been reversed, we'd likely be a lot more open about calling him -her- a pedophile.
