I'm wondering if it's like any other PSP game I've played, and by that I'm asking if it only has a few hours of gameplay

I searched and I didn't find any forums concerning this.

i can't really answer this as i haven't played it but i've been wondering the same thing. not only that, but is it actually any good? it sounds kinda shit in my opinion but i won't judge til i play it.

anybody remember ehrgeiz? that was also a fighting game with FF characters, though it was nothing like dissidia.

It is completely worth it.

There is so much to do it's unbelievable to get it for that price.

Even if you're not a fan of Final Fantasy, get this game or you'll regret it.

I'm just assuming I'll like the gameplay since FF has never let me down before. I'm just wondering if there will be enough gameplay.

I heard the gameplay was pretty bland, but it presented itself so well that it's amazing if you're a final fantasy fan.

They were mainly FF7 characters, as I recall. I remember my brother and I playing a beach racing minigame with both of us using Sephiroth. I still find it hard to believe that he didn't get heat stroke, with all that clothing on.

Past experience aside, I haven't played Dissidia either. I hope I can get it soon.

Like any other fighting game, the life of Dissidia is entirely dependent on two factors; Whether you've got friends to fight against, and whether you don't mind fighting computer controlled opponents.
Personally, I find it pretty easy to sink an hour or two a day into the game's Versus mode just because I'm a Final Fantasy fan, and I think "dream matches" like Cloud versus Squall, Bartz versus Tidus and Terra versus Sephiroth are cool.

I enjoyed Ehrgeiz a lot more, honestly. Yeah, Dissidia's more polished, has more characters, and is generally more faithful to the franchise, but its combat is that weird, floaty, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children style of fighting. Ehrgeiz felt more like a real fighter.

i always liked ehrgeiz too. had a copy o disc and i've lost it. which sucks seen as it's quite rare now. it was only FF7 characters and it's was a fun game. shame all the characters apart from the FF ones kinda sucked.

You limit your moveset in Dissidia, so timing is more important. Buttonmashing is pointless and can't even be done, which is quite a turn on the fighting genre.

I'd say it's well worth the cash. Check out the demo if you're not too sure. Soul Calibur is 10 euros cheaper, so if you're up for a more 'traditional' 3D fighter, go with that instead.

You steal brave with one button, use said brave to attack with the other button, rinse, repeat, ad nauseum. I, personally, found it to be little more than shallow game play with needlessly complicated micromanagement slathered with a fresh coat of nostalgic fan-service, and little more.

I only played it for two days (approx 10-12 hours), and it was all I needed to know it wasn't for me.

My 2 cents.

Come on, give it a shot. If you don't like it, you at least got a good gaming experience out of it. That's my policy, anyways.

Yes it is worth the price, the amount of content packed into the game is more than some console games. There are tons of items and the character diversity is really good. Despite what some have said, the gameplay is far from shallow, it requires a lot more thought when fighting and button mashing gets you nowhere as you are severely punished for doing so.

It's quite a refreshing departure from traditional fighting games and it's melding of fighting game and RPG mechanics are pulled off excellently. The beginning of the game is admittedly a little slow, but as you level up your characters and progress through the story, you gain more skills as you level up and the story gets rather interesting. The story mode alone will burn away 20 hours of your life, and leveling/mastering characters and their abilities makes fighting worth something.

If you've already tried the demo, then go pick up the game. The demo itself is nothing bore than a bare bones look at the game and the arcade mode. The actual game can get a lot harder and there is more to it. It's worth the price, with the amount of content in it and hell, simply because it tries to bring something new to the fighting genre...a genre that feels like little has changed since it's advent.
