It annoyed me first time round. Mostly, the characters. Yuna was okay, but a bit typical of JRPG healer girls - ie a bit of a wuss. Tidus annoyed me. Wakka annoyed me. Rikku did strange things that made no sense, which I have to assume was a bug or three, otherwise just WTF. Lulu was kinda cool, so was Kimahri, but Auron... god Auron was awesome. The Spheres system was a bit bleh, Blitzball was cool as but how the hell do they breathe underwater anyway? I sucked at it and couldn't be stuffed even trying to figure it out. The puzzles in the temple were SLOW, which annoyed me. Especially Bahamut's. Some of the ideas rocked though. The Aeons were cool - it was great how they could join you in battle instead of one attack and done.

What I would like to play instead is a Prequel, where you play as Auron, Braska and Jecht. That would be kickass.

7 could use a remake, though I have nostalgia-tinted glasses on when I think of it, and it has it's slack obvious-cartoon-shapes image style, swearing covered up with random symbols, and horrible translation job and all those sorts of factors, which is endearing. But boy it would be nice if they'd waited a year and allowed you to use the thumb sticks to move. My thumbs groan just thinking about needing to press down triangle and use the d-pad to run. I'd definitely buy it on 360. I don't mind if it doesn't have the latest graphics. If it was 8-era graphics I'd be fine. Graphics are NOT the most important aspect.

Meh SE its doing a remake of FFX cause its easier for them and they will still make money with it,doing a ff7-9 remake will be harder, but these are the ones that do require a remake , the graphics are really outdated and fans are longing for em, personally i would love to see a FF6 Remake in a 360 ps3 version... but i wont happen, neither FF7-9, cause Yoichi Wada is a trolling asshole.

I'd love to see FF IX (9) updated with just new graphics. Touch anything else and everyone working at Square loses a finger.
As cool as the games graphics are, they only do anything for me when I'm in a city or town. SO DO IT SQUARE. And if they screw it up, I at least have the original PS1 version, all I need is a memory card.
I'm with this guy.

As for FF X, I don't think it's getting a remake, it's just getting a re-release on another platform.

I don't consider a game to be a remake unless you actually RE-MAKE something!

It was a pretty good game though, nice graphics, vivid color palette, decent story. Also, the Sphere Grid system was very entertaining, despite the fact that every character (except Yuna) ended up being exactly the same, with exception of the Overdrives.

There were things I didn't like though. Some of the clothing was just ridiculous, too many enemies were just skin swaps (especially compared to FF IX) and the dialogue was pretty awful at times.

Let's see... where did I put that thing? Here we go!

Hey, I was looking for that too! :D

Yeah, if they're going to give something a graphical update, why not XII? That was fun. That had good characters (Vaan aside, but even then, he beats the hell out of Tidus. Then we get the likes of Balthier, Basch, even Dr. Cid and the Occuria!). That had a battle system that made level grinding fun. The plot was extremely enjoyable. The settings were amazing. Of the four Final Fantasy games I've managed to play, it's hands down the best.

If they're really re-making X, then they'd just be better off making an entirely new game. FFX is a pretty hopeless case- horrible characters (except Auron and some of the Fayth. They were good), a level system that made me want to break the bloody disk, the temple puzzles dragged way too much..

Well, everything's been said already, why should I have to repeat it? The sequel to X may not be great, but hell, it had a good battle system, more than one likable character, and the normal ending actually had an okay message- people leave, mourn and get on with life instead of wallowing in the past.

The only things I can really say X had going for it was nice summons, some beautiful music, and a couple nice locations (I really enjoyed the Macalania Forest. And the Omega Ruins.)

I don't even think it really needs one. Sure, FFX is last-gen, but the graphics hold up pretty well. FF games always have very good graphics...at least for the past handful of iterations.

it's a HD re-release, i don't know why people get so damn worked up about it, they aren't going to completely rebuild it, just throw some nicer texture resolution and newer cg movies in and maybe add more bonus dungeons/minigames at most.

if i am wrong and it is a full on remake i am more than happy to eat my words.

regardless, since i'm getting a vita, i'll be picking it up. i wouldn't have minded getting XII instead, but i'm not going to pass up the opportunity to play one of the better final fantasy games on the go.
