Poll: "Final Fantasy XV is the last chance I'll give the series"

I consider each "roman numeral" mainline FF game to be its own franchise. I'll consider XV like I would any new IP. If I don't like it, I'll most likely ignore its sequels if they make any, like I did with XIII, but it won't have any impact on whether or not I check out XVI, XVII, XXX or LXIX.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that note.

As for me I probably shouldn't be here. I haven't played an FF game since FFX because that's when I washed my hands of the franchise. But then again I'm just an old fart who prefers the classics that seemed more dependent upon having strong stories and characters over impressive visuals and cinematics.

Quoted for truth. Though I myself tend to consider each Final Fantasy installment individually, though increasingly irrelevant to me as consoles become less and less affordable.

I really want to keep up hope, as FF is the franchise that got me into gaming, but I'm starting to get really burnt out at this point. I completely abhorred the XIII games, and never touched XIV because I refuse to get into MMO's again, but I'm optimistic for XV. At the very least it won't be XIII.

On the plus side, currently in love with the X/X-2 Remaster.

FF12 was my limit, and I only bought that because Matsuno worked on the story (at the time, I did not know he left halfway through production).

FF13, or "Fabula Nova Crystalis", was a disaster. FF13 proved that as long as Toriyama was directing games, there really is no point to any of it.

FF14 is just an MMO grindfest, and by this point in my life I just know better than to bother.

So, yeah. I was well detached from Final Fantasy before FF15 even appeared on the horizon.

I've reached the point with this series where I'm no longer expecting the games to be good, but assuming they will suck until they can prove themselves otherwise.
