I'm honestly sick of the series. From what I've heard, there are at least 50 games out right now. And I think that Square Enix should focus on their lesser titles with better gameplay ond only make 2 or 3 sequels, not 50. From the more recent Square games that Ive played, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean were really good. But Final Fantasy 12, oh god, that game made me miss the days of playing Breath of Fire 5 (and I thought THAT game was bad). and with 13 and 14 on the way and probably alot more to come, is Square so scared that they'll go bankrupt if they stop slapping Final Fantasy on all their games?

Anyways, those are my views. Does anyone out there agree with me?

...this topic has been done to death, honestly. It seems like every week there's a new "I hate FF! It needs to DIE!" post. We get it already; find something else to kvetch about. Or use the 'search' function already to find any post whatsoever on FF to see how many others have the same opinion, because every time FF comes up, lots of someones share their hate.

Growing up I have actually grown sick of the whole JRPG world: unsympathetic and flat characters, annoying grinding and absurd plots... In my eyes FF was done for probably after FF7, and I've not found much in the other franchises as well (but admittedly I'm avoiding the genre). The only decent recent JRPG I've played is The World Ends With You.

I still like FF games. The games differ from each other enough to always feel new and the characters are always new, so I can never truly consider the next numbered game as a sequel to its predecessor(s).

Note that I am only talking about the numbered games and not FFT or things like Dirge of Cerberus, as I really don't care about them (FFT is an exception. I love that game).

Man it's just not fun any more. Well at least change the title to the never ending fantasy. To make it realistic.

No wait it's my fantasy it's final! haha

I know what you mean, I'm just saying that they could just kill the name and have cameo appearances from famous FF games (IE Chocobos, Moogles, etc.) because the name itself is just really getting old and really, what series needs so many games?

They're still playable, but I'd prefer if they'd put their focus towards some other of their franchises.

Though they could do more like Final Fantasy Versus XIII, I'm looking forward to that.
I love action RPGs with real-time combat.

This argument would make more sense if Final Fantasy were a series of games with connected narratives and characters. Since each game is almost entirely unique, it's silly to say that "the series has too many games" because the fact that it's a series has little relevance to the games themselves.

If Square-Enix were to take their trusted Final Fantasy team and set them to make a JRPG that isn't Final Fantasy, odds are the end result would be pretty similar to what it would be if they were just going to make a new Final Fantasy. The only difference would be the lack of Shiva, Ifrit, Cid, and Chocobos.

You can't really call the Final Fantasy games sequels in the normal sense of the word. They are almost always different in story and gameplay with exception to X and X2. I personally enjoyed FFXII. It's one of my favorites, and am looking forward to any other releases.

Where's the "I don't mind them continuing the series as long as they stop their current descent into crap" option? They've made good games before, and they've made good games for other series recently, but they're not trying with the main numbered ones because they know they'll sell anyway.

Let the dead horse stay buried. End the fucker, and move on. At the point where you're making multiple sequels at the same time...It's like loading extra bullets into a gun when it's pointed at your own head. What's the point?
