Fuck if I know... I might just have someone give me one to buy at random and just go from there...

Hoshido. It feels like Nohr would make a much better expansion for Hoshido than Hoshido would for Nohr. If I'm going to be buying one as DLC then that's the way I want to do it.
Huh... I never thought about like that... I might consider that mindset when it comes to decision day...

I'm going to play both versions but Nohr has my preference.

I like Awakening more then most fans seem to do but if I have a choice between a game more similar to the old school fire emblems or one more like Awakening I'm going with the former option.
So far everything about Nohr has been more interesting to me then what is shown about Hoshido. The story sounds less generic, the units seem cooler and the family are....well, the family.

I'm really liking the interaction between the main character and his Norh siblings. They seem like a very close bunch who are all equally scared of their father and thus stick closer together. The Norh siblings are the main characters family and I wouldn't like a main character betraying his family.

On the opposite end it makes Hoshido less sympathetic for me. Them loudly declaring that those people aren't true siblings but just scum speaks very poorly on them because everything shown so far tells us otherwise.

Oh God, it's still coming in two separate games?

If they do that for North America, I think I'm going to pass on the game. Unless there's a digital version that lets you organically pick your path when the split happens in the story, then I might consider it, MAYBE.

Because going "here's a game about a difficult moral choice! BTW, you have to make the decision without full context by buying the version of the game with that story in it before you get the full context, and can't make that choice organically in gameplay!" is (pardon the language), TOTALLY FUCKING ASININE and ruins most of the point.

Seriously, the concept really interests me (Do you side with your birth family and damn the people who raised you even though you were basically kidnapped? Or do you try to stick with the family that raised you in an attempt to change Nohr from within and thus save Hoshido at the risk of killing some of the very people you want to save on the hosido side through this gambit?). But if they pull this kind of bullshit with the two versions, I'm not sure I'll even want the game anymore. :s

And if anyone goes "But pokemon does it", NO. Pokemon does not set up a moral dilemma and go "if you want the full story, you need to buy both versions". Pokemon gives you the exact same game, with a handful of different monsters in each version to encourage trading, and with small story differences in some cases. Not equivalent.

I'll get both, but I'll play Hoshido first, mostly because I am sick and tired of settings out of medieval Europe. That and I can't help but feel that the writer (Kibayashi) is gonna pull the rug out from under people and reveal that things aren't as they seem.

Prolly nohr. More bang for the buck with random battles and stuff. Hopefully it's the one with castle building, and bath houses and stuff.

I heard about a potential 3rd version, but no data was presented here.

I'll probably get Hoshido first, because it's supposed to be the easiest route, and the "neutral" route being between the two in difficulty.
With that in mind, I'll do Hoshido first, like I said, then the neutral path, and then Nohr, because that feels like the most natural way to play it, with a gradual difficulty curve.

Nohr because I've been waiting for some more hardcore no-world-maps FE. I hope there's a version with just everything on it though, like the JP special edition.

Honestly, this is one of the few games I'm really excited for, since SMT x FE turned into Persona x Love Live!

I'll play Hoshido first because it's ezmode and then Nohr. Not sure which looks more interesting from a story perspective... I like aspects of both.

Still peeved there is such a huge gap between the Japanese and Western releases. Why not localize it during development like Atlus is doing with persona 5? Shit's supposed to hit the states in 2015, and the Japanese version doesn't even have a specific release date yet!

Siding with Nohr seems closer to the better games in the series mechanically.
Radiant Dawn > Path of Radiance > Fire Emblem 7 (No subtitle in US) > Sacred Stones > Awakening > A swift kick to the nuts > Shadow Dragon.
