I really like Firefly and it should have continued but I think people really need to let it go.

I absolutely loved Firefly. I may have died a bit inside when it was announced that plans to help Nathan Fillion buy the rights to the show were shot down about a month back...

Never seen it. Another SCI FI show that got cancelled? Been there before.

What happened?

You mean the show ending 9 years ago?

It was great, and it might not have continued to be great, so I am glad it was what it was and ended.
I think Firefly was a good show with great potential that could've probably lasted several seasons (maybe 3-4) and then it would've gotten tiresome. Screwed by the network means it never had a chance though.

It was alright at best. Even after watching it in the correct order, I wasn't as impressed as everyone else.

Firefly is by far one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching. But as Dexter trolls on I realized that some shows which were doomed to one season or two works in its favor.

How so? The story can remain contained and the opportunities rest solely on the fans. I like this because it doesn't bring in "we must be bigger and more shocking than last season" factor. Whedon never falls into this trap but I feel with fox he'd have to deliver more on a season two of Firefly even with high ratings.

Another reason I'm glad its only one season is because I can watch all of it in one day :) but thats more personal. Was Firefly wrongly taken off the air? Absolutely without question, but it might be more in favor for us fans then we think, I bet with the show being on the air longer it would've taken much longer or not at all to have a Serenity movie and I don't know about you but I think that would really suck.

I liked Firefly. Never truly gripped me, but it was an enjoyable show.

Even though I think they could have gotten a few more seasons out of it, high-budget shows like that tend to go bat-shit towards the end and kill the fan-base.

Nah, think FOX...the worst station for a Sci-Fi show to be on. It wasn;t hard to see the writing on the wall when every episode from it's beginning was played out of order. Should it have stayed? Sure, but there should be no wonder why it was cancelled. FOX didn't want it to succeed.

They always end up rewatching it at some point and then they simply must rage on a forum about how it was an amazing show and shouldn't have been let go.

I know cuz I've done it myself.

Never watched it. All I know about the show is that it's Science Fiction/Western, it has a cult following, and the main character is a woman who beats up everyone she comes across. [http://xkcd.com/311/]

I probably would have been disappointed, the moment that little girl got on the ship, I knew she was going to ruin the show for me.

Loved the show, would've liked to see a bit more, but glad it didn't live long enough to get tiresome.

I liked Firefly when I watched it a couple years ago. It was a little goofy but I like Westerns and I like scifi. I'm not a big Joss Whedon fan (exgirlfriend ruined Buffy for me) but I did enjoy some of the little touches like the Chinese cursing, etc.

Definitely one of the better modern scifi series, but no Babylon 5 (lol, I'm ready for your flame).

My joint favourite TV show ever (alongside Battlestar Galactica). I love every second of every episode of Firefly and if it did ever come back I would cry like a little girl (with happiness, obviously)
I actually just got a new car and I'm getting a bumper sticker which says "I don't brake for Reavers"
