Which do people prefer to play first person shooters on? I'm a console boy, however my friend is a Pc fan. I just find it alot easier on the consoles.

PC, although Its more difficult to play a lan game than split screen, but hell my fav multiplayer fps (TF2) doesn't even have split screen so..1 - 0 to the PC :D

Oh christ, RUN!

*Here's your flame/lock proof suit*

Personally, I like consoles because I work in an office and I don't consider sitting at a desk relaxing. Of course I miss the mouse, though. The idiot proof online matching in xbl is also a plus. And I like playing Left 4 Dead on a 48" TV with surround sound!

Mouse look allows for more raw and faster gameplay so if you like slower paced games that take less twitch skill then console is great for FPS games.

First Person Shooters were made to played on the PC, period. End of discussion. Playing an FPS on a console is akin to playing ice hockey without skates. Sure you can do it but it sucks and is only slightly more enjoyable than a trip to the dentist.

I think the general consensus is that FPSs are for the most part better on PC, but consoles are by no means a poor alternative.

I'd say that most of the best PC fps games are more than 5 years old.

Agree with the above. FPS are much better for computers.

But hey. Consolese have games like sports games and etc. And besides. Wii made it easier to have games that fit more for consoles than computers.

Maybe not a good idea to say that. That's going to creat a spark for another flame war inside a flame war thread ..

I do believe there are much more advantages to playing on a pc but the fact of the matter is that all those cool new games they come out with need some expensive hardware to play them and i don't know if you have money growing on a tree in your backyard but if your not willing to spend 700 to 1000 dollars on a computer a console is a pretty good substitute and you learn to live with the limitations. ( on a side note i do love the command prompt in games for computers)

PC.

My first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D as a vereh young kid on a floppy...

I remember finding consoles FPSs so unwieldy to use, the only game which got the controls right which I played back then was Halo on the x-box at a friends house once or twice, making me consider getting a X-Box instead of a PC and my beloved flight sims. I didn't, the mouse has always been king.

i suppose it can depend on what your tactics are really. its probably easier to be a sniper on the pc, whereas i prefer to run around alot which i find is better on a console

It's easier to aim on PC, but i hate using WASD to move, it feels rubbish. Same with actually firing the guns, it so unsatisfying without a trigger and rumble. Plus, lying on a sofa with a 52" screen is a lot more comfortable than hunched over a keyboard. I prefer playing on consoles.

I'm a console man myself. Even though the mouse may be slightly more accurate, consider that everyone else you're playing against on a console is also on a console.

Did that sentence even make sense?

Anyway, I like the controller set-up more than the M&K. Every control you could possibly need is within reach of your thumb. You never have to look down at your controller to figure out where the "Equip Rocket Launcher" button went.

Also, wireless anyone?
