Which do people prefer to play first person shooters on? I'm a console boy, however my friend is a Pc fan. I just find it alot easier on the consoles.
Buy your friend an ice cream sandwich for being correct. Then, go to the river and sit on the bench and stare off into the water as you contemplate your life. Skip some stones across the water, perhaps. Squat down in the sand and look at your reflection in the water. Sigh, deeply. Cleanse yourself of your thoughts. Then, never allow them to return again.
i could do all that mate. still wouldnt change me mind though. used to be a pc gamer, but i just find a console easier and much more social. i can sit with my mate and play a co-op game or just sit and watch, and tell each other what he's doing wrong and how the me/he would do it a thousand times better. cant have interaction like that on a pc fps
It worked just fine with my roommate and I, sitting our computers near each other playing video games. VOIP works great, too. Although I don't really play video games to be social. I go out and hang out with people to be social, but that's just me. To each their own.

I do have consoles as well, so it's not like I absolutely hate them. There's just no way that I'd ever be able to say a PC FPS is less fun then a consoles. I'd feel pretty out of my mind.

It is typically easier on consoles because most console FPSes have some form of auto aim that helps the player. While it is difficult to notice, in a game like Fallout 3 (I know it's not a first person shooter, but there is the option of shooting in first person) where there is no aim assist it is very difficult to point your cross hairs at the target on the consoles, while it is fine on the PC.

Honestly, I've never felt that much of a deference. Feels the same to me, I think that its just in your head if you think a analog stick or a mouse can make you aim better. If the stick feels un-responsive, then increase the look sensitivity, no big deal.

The FPS is better when played on the pc for several reasons.

1. the mouse allows extreme accuracy
2. a pc is upgradeable witch means that they can release better looking games constantly instead of every time a new console is out.
3. mods
4. sure a 60" tv is great but you sit 15 feet away while on a pc you sit 2 feet away from a 19 inch monitor, so you can see more detail
5. mods
6. mods

console gaming is still good though like if you have friends over it is better to have a console than a pc due to its single person per system

My skills at aiming are crummy at best. The mouse works better for me then joysticks, so I'm a PC FPS gamer.

Just because you can't aim well with a console controller doesn't mean it sucks for FPS.
It just means YOU suck.

I prefer consoles because you don't have to upgrade them to play monstrosities like "Crysis".
What if I wanted to play an import game on my 360? It would have to be chipped.
I prefer PC gaming because you don't have to get RSI from playing monstrosities like "Halo".

Console for me I'm afraid. The controls for a fps should be simple, and a console controller is perfect for that. If you need OVER 9000 buttons to control an fps, it's not an fps.
Also all this shit about games looking better on a pc, mice being better for controlling games... you have a point. Yet for an fps I just want to turn it on, have a mindless fix for 10 minutes then go and do something else and on a pc it takes way too long to do that unless you know what you're doing and have a sweet-ass setup. For me it will always be consoles for those types of pick-up-and-play games.

Console, you have splitscreen and instant controller support. Plus only one chat provider. Oh and people who say mice are easier to aim with that's only true if you're used to using a mouse it is the same with controllers.

First Person Shooters = PC
Third Person Shooters = Console (Xbox 360 in my case.)

Yawn.

For control schemes, I have absolutely no preference. I'm good with both. Neither of them limit my ability to play a game well, and both result in an equal enjoyment of the game.

As a PC gamer with a wired 360 gamepad but no actual console (Wii doesn't count here) I end up playing most shooters on the PC. I've been treated to the likes of Gears of War thanks to my friends Xbox and later the PC version (which I played on the gamepad) and I play halo PC using the gamepad, just because it seems like the right thing to do.

Using both control schemes I am perfectly able to aim fast, shoot accurately, track targets well, and have fun with the game. About the only actual limitation I can think of is that I can't turn 180 degrees instantly with a gamepad.
