Hurray, person who doesn't get the humor of this thread. Or does get it, but decides to be a boring nitpicker and rain on everyone's parade. And the rain is made of acid. And the parade too. It's... the acid-world!
But, but... I like acid. It makes stuff bubble and make neat hissing noises.

I thought that it was as though you are like a ghost, hopping from one body to another. when one dies, just simply leave and find a new puppet.

The thing is that virtual representations of people are not people. They do not think or act of their own free will, they are simply graphics on a screen, a series of pixels being displayed in response to my input, as well as the input of others, for our amusement. I realize this thread is a joke, but its a stupid joke. Now, if you really want to be deep about this subject, you should first watch Reboot.

So every time I die in a video game, I rez the guy and force him to continue doing my bidding?
Sounds to me like a pretty good deal for all parties involved. I have fun, he/she gets to not die while doing some epic stuff.

How is this a problem?
It's like drafting someone, sending them back to a hospital when they get shot, and then sending them back into the fight. Only they didn't exsist before being drafted. Their only purpose in life is to do my bidding, and the better my bidding is; the longer they go between rezzings.

If anything the little punks aught to give thanks for me; their creator.

Imagine how terrible WoW is, we control what our little person says, and when he dies we force to march across a spirit plain to his body and reanimate it. And it is really bad in RPGs if you forget to save they have to fight the big bad boss all over again. But their misery amuses me, I think of it as them atoning for their failure.

Erm, I don't really play an FPS that often, Soooo?

Then again, my gw char has died over 200 times.
OH DEAR GOD!

That is horrifying!
Ya but GW characters are surrounded by women that dress like strippers at all times, and they get magically healed and resurrected all the time.

They get no sympathy.

Neither does this thread. And what's with all this Cthulhu obsession lately, it seemed like it only started after [small]the[/small]...Scribblenauts review?
