Okay, mods please don't ban me for this, I'm asking a legitimate question about the Escapist's add-ons and the nuisance it's causing so please, everyone really, read all I have to say before you judge.
Okay, since the Escapist started their latest bar-at-the-bottom-of-the-screen campaign I've been having problems. Every time I try to browse on the Escapist, everything's fine for a moment until the Footar bar appears, then things slow down and then freeze. I have to recover the page and quickly close the bar before it stuffs with my browser again. I just had to reload the page five times because I tried to give it a chance and then when I eventually gave up and tried to close the bar it still froze. When I reloaded the page for the last time, the footar bar didn't appear and I no longer had any problems.
Now, I don't mind the Escapist adding things to improving browsing on their site, I don't have Facebook or anything so they don't really add anything for me personally, but if it helps keep the site going I'm all for it. But when it's freezing my browser and actually interfering with my ability to browse your site, it's kind of a step in the opposite direction. It could be that I'm running it in IE but since I haven't found any other topic of this description, I'd say it's not such a wide problem. I just want to know, is anyone else having this problem or is my computer cursed?
TL;DR: I don't mind the Footar bar, but it's freezing my browser. Is anyone else having this problem?
PS: Also, I know these bar things aren't usually held in the highest regard, some people even saying they steal your information, but to be honest I've never seen one long enough to know what it's supposed to do other than connect with social networking sites. Frankly, I hope the Escapist finds one it likes, but this one, to me at least, seems like a doozy. Please let me know otherwise!
