I like the English Championship, especially seeing how next season will have all my local teams in it.

And remember, we all hate Leeds scum.
As a Huddersfield fan I must agree with everything you just said

Well, being an Englishman and a Man U fan, funnily enough it transpires I most closely follow the Premier League. :3 And like the OP, I more or less only watch Man U when they're on TV (and it isn't on bloody ESPN >.<) or a top 4/6 clash, but I do catch MOTD each week during the season. I used to play as a defensive right back (a bit of a rarity, seeing as everyone who plays there, plays as a wing back nowadays) for my local village team up until a couple of years ago, partly because of general lethargy and partly because as much as I enjoy playing, well, being a socially maladroit nerd and not anything approaching a 'lad' I didn't have a great deal in common with the dudes I was playing with. =/

I think you just described about 70% of attacking players in contemporary professional football with that sentence. XD

Despite my avatar, I prefer the English Premier League. Arsenal supporter, though I really can't get any football in the States. Lot of good it does to have several hundred channels if none of them run what I'd like to see.

I'm an Arsenal fan, and live within a mile from the stadium. Not that I get to go that often, because supporting a huge team like them makes tickets a) expensive and b) hard to get.

I don't watch football. Or sports for that matter. It's because they are boring, they lack this:

See? It's much better if you put a soundtrack instead of the annoying commentators there.

Union or League? (Or do you not really care...) ¬_¬
Rugby Union personally...

... *ahem*

[HEADING=2]SARACENS!![/HEADING]

Storming start to last season ended on a bit of a damp squib...

OT: Fulham FC fan here... don't think anyone outside of the Kensington/Chelsea/Fulham area really cares about them, but hey, Craven Cottage is a cute little piece of turf, we're probably the only European finalist whose ground would be considered a disgrace to hold a European final... (it has a 25700 capacity FFS!)

Chuck 'im onto a rugby-sevens pitch, we'll make a MAN of him!!

Come on, be fair, about 30%... the other 40% roll around on the ground slapping the grass...

He isn't that bad. He has the strength and agility to stay up when he wants to, and he doesn't dive as much as he used to. Even if he does dive, he is still the second best footballer in the world. And I don't even like him, bastard should never have left United.

I watch the English Premier League mostly, because it's the best league in the world. This season it was decided on goal difference, in the last 5 minutes of the season. Edge of the seat action, though I did shed a solitary, manly tear when City won the league with the last kick of their game. If Barton hadn't got himself sent off, United would have won that title. Next year it will be 20, if we strengthen the squad enough. I can't wait for the transfer season to properly start!

We don't have any decent sports channels at my house, so I can only watch highlights of the Premier League. It's awesome when you don't support a team, because I never get upset when anyone loses.

English Premier League all the way. I'm a Liverpool fan, used to live within half a mile of Anfield so matchdays we're always pretty fun to watch the crowds and soak up the atmosphere. I also have to say that thank christ Klown Kenny has gone too, there was nothing more depressing than going to matches last season.

SO COME ON LIVERPOOL!!! PLEASE MANAGE TO STAY IN THE LEAGUE NEXT SEASON!!!!! please

Yeah, well, rugby is... Meh. Both sports have their qualities and drawbacks.

He's not bad, but he's not the second best in the world either. Second best in terms of sheer goal scoring perhaps, but when you look at the entire skill set? Ribery is better.

And no, I am not joking. He has been consistently outperforming Ronaldo in all but one year since Ronaldo moved to Madrid.
In what way has Ribery been outperforming Ronaldo? Ronaldo scores more, assists more, has more pace and skill. Ribery hasn't even been German player of the year since 2008, in fact I wouldn't even call him the best winger at Munchen. I think you may genuinely be the first person in 4 or 5 years that I have seen or heard say that Ronaldo isn't in the top 2 players in the world.

That's because Ronaldo is overhyped. Stop visiting goal.com for a day and visit or talk to some serious fans or experts.

Anyway, in what way Ribery outperformed Ronaldo? Well, in both legs of the CL semi final for a start.
I have never visited Goal.com. I get my sports news from BBC or SkySports. 2 games do not make a decent comparison, especially when Munchen were lucky to get through that match (and unlucky to lose the final, which I wanted them to win). Ronaldo isn't overhyped. He is as good as people say. Ribery is a fantastic player, certainly one of the best in the world, but I don't believe he is better than Ronaldo. The only expert I've seen say that Ribery is better is Zidane, and he also claimed that Ribery is better than Messi.

I don't follow soccer like my friends do, but isn't Germany better than England? My friends like FIFA and from what I recall, German and Spain are the best European teams, right?

OP:As a German American who doesn't really know too much about soccer, I love Germany! ♥Germany♥ :D
