Poll: Football: Robben is better than Messi

I think Robben is better than Messi, and here is why:

When you see the goals Messi makes, most of his goals are made of great team play. He has, with barcelona, the best team in the world behind him. Bayern Munich, Robben's club, is no where near that level.

When you compare all goal they have made, you should come to the conclusion that, (virtualy) all goals messi made, robben would have made as well.

Messi wouldn't have made these goals for example:

So, Robben is a faster player, better at distance shots, and, unlike messi, performs good in his national team as well as with his club.

Messi is perhaps the most overrated player ever. I like Robben because he's balding.

Not to mention the fact that he was pretty incredible in the World Cup...


HOWEVER! I don't care that much about players who don't play in the Premiership. Hell...I don't even care about the players in the Premiership...

I watch Match Of The Day on a Saturday because I like football highlights but can rarely bring myself to watch a whole game (except internationals).

I'm inclined to disagree.

Messi is a phenomenal talent, he's the stuff of legend at age 23...his best is probably still to come.

I used to watch Robben fairly routinely when he was at Chelsea, he's a very gifted player, but he's also a diver.

The pundits are not wrong, Messi is the best.

I agree that Robben is amazing but he has nothing on Messi who is something else altogether. There is a reason he has won two Ballon D'ors in a row, and Robben wasn't even in the top three last year.

Also Bayern Munich ain't bad, they did make the Champions League final last year (beating Man United in the process)

Robben is my favourite player, but I still think Messi is more consistent, with better balance and a better finish. I'd add that he's a better team player too.
Messi may play well in a good team, but Robben wasn't nearly as successful in a championship winning team at Chelsea and even PSV before that.

Messi's a better player in my opinion, but Robben is probably the best out and out left winger in the world, when fit.

This is about who is the best player, not the best team player... Messi was in the 2010 first season half (up to the world cup) worse than robben.
