Generally steam. i have a ps3 as well, so i go to eb or jb for those games.

I find it harder to find pc games in stores. What im looking for is always lost among a zillion other titles ive never even heard of before.

Steam.

The download sizes used to be a problem, but with a couple hundred gigabytes of cap I can deal with the large number of games I buy.

Yeah Steam and Ozgameshop.com.au
after looking the price difference online prices are better.
I only use Retail for the Special editions like the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Codex Edition.

Well I used to use EB, but their prices are ridiculous so I only use them now to get games for free. What you do is you buy a game, install it, make a copy of the cd or get a cd crack and then return the game within 7 days for a full refund. Even though you are not supposed to get refunds for Steam games I have at least 3 games that I have returned for all my money that are steam activated.

Anyway after EB I used Steam but I really dislike it now due to how it seems to be associated with this whole DRM bullshit pulled lately.

So now I just use GAME, it's decent.
what do you do to make the cd copy? because that is alot of data stuff.

------

I go prefer retail because i like having the awesome cd case with the cool art sitting by my computer :D
but every game that doesnt have cool case art i get on steam.

a lack of a decent internet connection (or rather, bandwidth allowance) makes using steam incredibly impractical for me...

that is until we get the national broadband network! (in 10-15 years)... bah

I put both, but that's not really accurate.

See, I buy all my PC games on Steam, but I get all my 360 games retail. Usually from EB Games.

I just love having the case, the disk, the book... ah, the book. Such a luxury.

Shame the prices are so hilariously high, or I'd get everything retail.

GOG is great for Good old Games (obviously), it was my go to because I could actually download the files on my work computer and it didn't require a client or anything. They are still the best place for older games if only because they promise to be DRM free.

Since switching to TPG unlimited, Steam has become a lot more feasible for me and I splurged at the Christmas Sale.

I just read about in a copy of PC Power Play that I picked up today but there is also an Australian site called Desura, they have a small library of games but most importantly they are sort of the Steam for mods. Their client looks at your files and determines what games you have that have mods on Desura, and Desura will apply the mod for you. Brilliant, it even works with games they don't sell as long as they have the mod and you have the game.

That isn't to say I don't buy retail, it is just so rare to get a better deal from a retail shop than you can find on GoG, Steam or Desura.
